John is meticulous about his screens! Before ordering, he personally comes to your home and measures and plans his installation strategy, plus he has an excellent eye for which screen design will match your home. During installation, John built a special frame to hold the doors. They look fantastic and work perfectly. As he was leaving, we handed him a sun-damaged screen and he'll be making us a new one overnight.

It went exceptionally well. I was moving from Los Angeles to Arroyo Grande and doing this long distance. The screen people worked with my realtor to accommodate her schedule. They had a good selection of colors and discussed options with me. They came on time and completed the work on the day I moved in. They did an excellent job. I would definitely hire them again.

The whole project went well overall. I needed a strong screen door for security but one that was not bullet-proof but would slow down any unwanted entry. Also, the area it was to go in is somewhat damp so I didn't want a metal door that would be rusting soon. They showed me an aluminum door that was stylish and yet secure and included a deadbolt lock. It had to be installed as we didn't have a screen door on this particular door in the past. Also, the opening where it was to go is an odd size so this screen door had to be a custom door. We also had to have a window screen made for a window where the previous owners of the property had gotten rid of the original screen.

John and Denise are the owner/operators of The Screen Shop in Santa Maria. Denise runs the front office and helps with installations while John makes the doors and screens and does the installation. Both are very personable and it was easy doing business with them. John came out to measure for the new screen door as well as the window screen. The screen door manufacturer was then given the sizes for the new door, cut the door to the size we needed, and then shipped it to John. John came back out in about 2 weeks from the day he measured for the new door and installed it as well as the new window screen. The door fit perfectly and was a good solid fit for the opening. The deadbolt has a 1and quot; throw so should be a good deterrent to any would-be intruders. The window screen also fit perfectly.

We had paid about 35% upfront and when the job was done, the balance due was just as represented in the estimate.
