We purchased a used mobile home. The seller had contracted with Barajas Construction to do various repairs prior to close of escrow. One repair required was replacement of the water heater. This contractor, even though licensed, did not know what kind of heater to install in mobile homes, nor did he know how to install according to code. He did not install proper earthquake strapping and had to come back out. When the State of Calif. inspector came out (after we moved in) to review the installation, he couldn't pass the install due to lack of a drip pan, which is standard installation for mobile homes according to State Code. I called the contractor to come back out. He was supposed to come the next day. He didn't show up until the following day. He didn't come to the door to tell me he was here, but shut off water anyway. He left in the middle of the work with no explanation and didn't return for hours. When he returned, he still didn't notify me that he was here, nor did he notify me when he left. The water heater installation finally passed inspection, but overall it took this contractor at least 5 visits to do it right.
