We've used him for years for multiple jobs. I have always found his pricing reasonable. He's always been straightforward. He's always explained things as we went along. He's been open to changes as needed and he does great work.

The work was excellent. The response was very quick and I was very pleased. He went out of his way to get the work done quickly because it was a front door and I needed it done quickly. I will be using them again. I was very impressed with the price.

I actually am here to rave about David's work. We have used his three times (see above) and EVERY time, he has been professional, prompt, cost effective, and he does beautiful, clean work. He also was very generous with good advice. And came in right at the budgets he bid. With this much construction going on in our lives, it has been very important that people show up when they say they will. Without exception, the people David has sub-contracted to work on our jobs have also been extremely professional, competent, shown up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and CAN do what they have promised. David has "that thing" that makes him a joy to have around, which is also important through the extreme stresses of remodeling. He doesn't seem to take offense when things get tense around him, is a good mediator, and able to come up with long-term useful solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems. Call him. We only think about our own construction needs in relation to his availability!

This remodeling went extremely well. David completed the job in the timeframe he estimated it would take to finish the job, and there were no surprises. I would hire him again to do any future remodeling or contracting work for us. He is honest, straight forward, and very professional. His estimates were accurate. David is always prompt, thorough, meticulous and well organized. He works to a very high standard, higher than mine in many instances! His subs have worked with him for years and they are extremely high quality as well. Because I've done so many projects with him (I would NOT use anyone else now) I've gotten to know them all. In Santa Cruz, where the "flake factor" is so high, David's attention to detail, intelligence and professionalism completely distinguish him from other builders I've used. My home remodel, a ten week project, was finished exactly on time and as promised. He tells you exactly what is happening, never glossing over how long something will take or how much it will cost. You know precisely where you stand. David's bid will not be your lowest, but it will be as precise as possible given the information available. His bids have come in the middle of the range when I did comparisons (which frankly I don't bother to do anymore.) I look forward to doing projects with him--imagine that. He makes it fun and collaborative.
