Description of Work: I used David Hooks Construction Services to replace a door jamb on the front door.

Description of Work: David Hooks was our general contractor taking a 4 walled structure with plumbing and nothing else into a 3 room elegant and function home office building with beautiful sliding doors, cathedral ceilings, sound proofing, and many other architectural and design details. He then was our general contractor when we remodeled our living room, including completely changing where stairs were, filling in a sunken living room with concrete, all new windows and doors. Currently he is our on retainer advice giver for a kitchen spruce up, helping us with what we cannot do ourselves.

Description of Work: Kitchen remodel was fabulous. The old kitchen was demolished, walls, windows, and doors were moved the ceiling was raised, a skylight was installed, new cabinets, and plumbing fixtures were installed, wood floors were refinished, new appliances were installed, and gorgeous granite counter tops, tile, and a door onto the deck was installed. This job went extremely smoothly. The general contractor, David Hooks, worked closely with my husband and me to resolve issues and negotiate change orders. We had very good communications with him. It is an amazingly gorgeous kitchen. The remodeling of two full bath and one half bath went very well. Gorgeous granite countertops, new cabinets, and plumbing fixtures installed. The only noteworthy problem was the subcontractor who did the tiling. He was running too many jobs at one time and did not lay the floor tile in the master bath as we had requested. The plumber was excellent. He has been available to address any minor problems that have occurred since the remodel. Again the general contractor did a very good job, managed the subcontractors, and worked closely with us to resolve issues as they arose. Remodel family room: David Hooks crew moved walls, raised the ceiling, and installed doors. All went very well. We highly recommend David Hooks Construction. The company does great work, maintains great communications with the client, and is reasonably priced. David's subcontractors were all excellent except the tile subcontractor. The electrical subcontractor was very good although a bit over priced.

Description of Work: I've worked with David Hooks a number of times over the past ten years, both for commercial and residential remodels, repairs--anything I need a builder for. He has renovated my spa in Saratoga and remodeled my townhouse in Santa Cruz in 2001. That remodel included kitchen, master bath, and everything in between. Since then I have used him for numerous small projects on an as-needed basis.
