I have to say that this is the first time that I am disappointed in Angie's List and I have never written a bad review about anyone before.

I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate on replacing an existing wood patio with an exact replica in vinyl, at my parents home. The person that I spoke with, and the man who came out to give the estimate, was Lon Marinos. He was punctual and friendly, but was abrupt when answering questions and at times a bit condescending. Lon measured everything and drew up a plan and proceeded to give us an estimate of $12,500. I then told him that I found him on Angie's List and had a 15% discount. He stated that he had already included it in the price. I asked what the original price was (before the discount) and he would not tell me what it was. He kept quoting the $12,500 which included the discount, as anything over $5000 receives this discount. I finally got him to give me the original price and he quoted $14,500. I immediately realized that the $2000 discount was not in fact 15% off. I didn't mention this discrepancy, as I had other quetions about the job and what was included in the price quoted.

I asked about a guarantee that the existing brickwork would not be damaged during removal and instillation, he stated that he could not do that and proceeded to explain how the crew just rips everything out and the brickwork fascade on the wall would probably pop off. He then stated that it would cost an additional $560 for a brick mason to repair any damage to the existing brickwork. When I suggested an option for removal of two 2x4's, Lon abruptly stopped me and stated that it was up to the crew and it would probably take too long to do it that way. He then "flipped flopped" and came up with a similar idea for the removal and  stated that as a "former mason" himself, we would still have to have a brick mason to repair any damage.

Then I asked about reattaching existing electrical, Lon stated that his crew does not do that work and it would cost an additional $700 for an electrician to deal with the electrical. He then changed his mind and stated that he would need to speak to his boss and the crew regarding the electrical. Lon stated that he would take pictures after we agreed to the job and he would go over everything with his boss and the crew at that time. 

In the end, we just wanted to end the meeting and I walked Lon out to the front. He then stated: "I hope your mom calms down". I told him that she was calm and just had questions about what was included in the quote. He made a few other comments that caused me to score Lon low on the profressionalism scale.

I can not speak to the quality of the work or product, as we only made it to the estimate stage.

First of all, we love the fact that Vinyl Fence Depot has a showroom. You can see the products and touch the materials. It's much more convenient than someone coming to your house with pictures and having to use your imagination.
We met Minas and was immediately pleased. Not only is he very professional, detail oriented, extremely knowledgeable about the products and honest, but he is also very design oriented. We told him what we needed, which was originally only 1 gate. We mentioned the style we had in mind and asked what our options were. Before he responded, he asked us the style of our home and the type of windows, garage, etc. When we answered his questions, he gave us suggestions to help with the curb appeal. He wanted to make sure the gate would match the home and that it would be pleasing to the eye. We loved that because curb appeal and design is extremely important to us. So after some brainstorming, we created the perfect gate.
Then we began to talk about pricing. Keep in mind we already got a quote from someone else, so we thought we had a ballpark idea of the cost. Well because Minas was so straightforward and honest, he showed us his pricing sheet. We were blown away because his price was so much cheaper! Not only that; if we purchased more products, his team would only be installing one time...which means, even more savings on the labor! Since we were already under budget, we threw in another 2 gates that needed replacing, and decided to go for that split rail fence we always wanted. For the price of 2 gates from the other company, we got instead, 3 gates and a split rail fence.
The following day, Minas came to our home and did all his measurements. On top of that, he explained codes and which way gates should properly swing. We went with his suggestions.
The following week, his installer, Kevin and his crew came to install. They came in 15 minutes early, which is wonderful, and they are a pleasure. They listened to our suggestions and kept us informed during the whole process. Very professional and very clean.
We cannot express enough how pleased we are with our gates and fence. They came out perfect! And on top of that, we have a lifetime warranty on the products and a 4 year warranty on the install!
And we cannot express how much we highly recommend Minas and his team.

The job was done in less than 5 hours. Pretty much cleaned up til the last seconds when I started to write the check, waste can left in middle of yard and energy began to wane, but the fence looks great.  What I really appreciate is that they arrived early and did not knock on the door for my attention every 15 minutes. They got to work and got done.

Minas came out and thoroughly explained what he would be doing.  We signed the contract and gave him a small down payment. Two guys came out and  began the work much sooner than we even expected and were finished in a matter of hours. It looks fantastic.  And with the 20% discount we received, Vinyl Fence Depot's price was unbeatable.  (We got three estimates.) We will definitely be calling them for our future projects.

Crew showed up and hour early - but we were ready!  We also needed to have the gate lined with horse fencing.  We purchased the horse fencing as the Company did not carry the product we needed.  They attached it with their hardware.  We were able to get a keyed lock which is so much nicer than our previous padlock.  Great quality and installers were very professional.

They did a fantastic job. They seemed very efficient. They explained things to me. There were no problems. They were really good. I dealt with the manager and laborers. They were all great. Their prices were reasonable. The quality of their work was excellent. They were responsive and punctual.

Fantastic experience! I wanted a perimeter picket fence and a railing around my porch. I visited the showroom and Jack the Sales Rep explained options, prices, etc. He was patient when I needed time to get my place in order, and punctual when I was ready to proceed. His estimate and pricing were fair. And after measuring, they were ready to go in days. Jack asked great questions to insure my fencing would coordinate with my landscaping, and made professional, true craftsman suggestions to insure the project looked good, worked for me, and would last. His crew literally installed everything (over 100 feet of fencing and 20 feet or railing) in a single day. They were diligent, showed me how to care for the fencing, cleaned everything up. I'd recommend them 1,000%. Oh, and the house now looks sooo great. A super, super product, installed by a great team.
