Mike R. was the individual that came to give us a quote. He was on time, and friendly, but a typical "sales" guy. "Promise the moon" kind of person, but he showed us the BBB A+ rating for the company and assured us that customer service was their specialty. We signed the contract and gave him our deposit, had a start date set, and waited anxiously to see the finished product. WELL... it took almost 3 weeks beyond the original start date to get them out to do the work, which was totally prompted by my continual follow up via phone and email...I was not impressed with the communication at all. I also found it odd that every time they returned a call, they called my husband's cell vs. the numbers that I gave them to contact. When we provided our CC to pay for the materials, we were told after the fact, that they planned to charge an additional 3% for using a credit card. We had specifically discussed the use of a credit card with our sales man and were assured that it would not be a problem. He also promised two "free" columns to be installed by us, if we executed the contract while he was here. Needless to say, they tried to charge us $50 each for the "free" columns. In the end, both the 3% CC fee and charge for the columns was waived...but it was not without some intense discussion. Without boring you with the details, the workers were nice enough, but very messy and unprofessional. I stressed the importance of keeping the work area cleaned up at the end of each day, due to the proximity to our swimming pool, and the fact that my dog would need to walk through that area for potty time. I came home the first day and spent almost an hour sweeping up screws and metal shavings from my back patio (the exact place I told them needed to be left clean) and found white caulking footprints across my stained concrete. They were more careful when they returned, but still left their tools scattered around the yard, empty water bottles laying in my planters, and more caulking footprints around my back yard. Upon completion, I found a bag of trash in the street and a skill saw that had fallen from their van. I'm certain it was an accident, but just another example of the haphazard workmanship. Fast forward to the rain we had last week (Oct 14-16, 2016)... Our covered patio leaks like a sieve at the walls, and completely soaked the area that was supposed to remain dry. I immediately took pictures and a video and emailed them to the customer service person that I had worked with originally, as well as contacted our sales person (Mike), project manager (Sam), and left a voice mail at the unanswered office line. We received no call or email back until Monday Oct 17th, with a weak commitment by Kyle to send someone out to look at the issue. We requested a visit on Wednesday (today), but received no commitment. We have followed up twice, but we keep getting the push off. It's the same story as when we were trying to schedule the work originally..... Our total project cost was $13,550.00 and I really wish I had taken my business elsewhere. I will update this review if /when West Coast Exteriors does the due diligence to correct this problem. I cannot, in all good conscience, recommend this company. ***Follow up*** West Coast Exteriors eventually corrected the water problem and resolved the issue. However, the experience was not a pleasant one, nor was it done in a timely manner, and we will not be recommending them to anyone in the future.

The installers were very professional and polite. The workmanship was excellent. The quality of the product surpasses any other in the market place. The patio cover looks beautiful. The installers cleaned up each and every day. I would definitely hire them again for another project on our home. The cost was a little high, but they use top of the line product, so you get what you pay for.

West Coast Exteriors team built for us a Sunroom with a carefully selected parts and material, particularly the glass that keeps the
room temperature, in summer reducing the hit from the outside.
After every work they performed, they cleaned the area and left everything in a good order.
Max - the project manager - was very responsive to our requests, was clearly answering questions, and checked the completion of the
job making sure that everything is in a proper quality and order.

The crews were efficient, arrived on schedule, straightened up nightly, and left the work area clean and neat.
Communication was good with the project manager (Max). The patio cover installation was excellent workmanship and looks much better than the one it replaced. the drainage system is better designed and constructed and the materials are superior to those that were replaced.
Teardown of the old patio cover was done in about 5 hours overall.
New patio cover installation was three days.
Electrical connection and panel installation required two days.
Problems: Very few such jobs can be done without problems, and the real measure of customer service is how well they handle those problems. Currently, the system is operating but one panel has a bad optimizer which needs replacing. There were some wiring problems in the initial setup which have been corrected and the only remaining item is replacement of the optimizer. PGand E is not being timely with setting up the solar account. But, they were not contacted prior to installation and that should have been done. The existing meter is a smart meter, albeit the older version and I have selected a rate plan (E-6) which should work well for our installation. I found the rate plans and all the supporting literature from PG$E to be complex beyond belief and they appear to be deliberately so in order to keep customers from selecting optimal plans for themselves rather than ones that benefit PG$E .
Followup: the malfunctioning optimizer has been replaced and the system is now working at full capacity, still awaiting inspection and approval by PG$E. Max has been conscientious in follow up and making sure that Solar Edge, makers of the inverter and controllers has everything needed for system monitoring and fine tuning. While everything did not go perfectly, we ended up with a properly completed and working system and I felt the communication and effort by WCE was first class.

Because we were having pool remodel done also, they worked with us to construct the covers as the pool decking was completed.
