"(Reader Be Advised: This client is requesting favors and additional free work in exchange for a good review- and telling us that if we don't comply he would talk terribly about us. Because we declined to be part of his unacceptable behavior- he's been dedicating great part of his day-to-day to write paragraphs in every platform saying how bad we are. We hold to our high integrity standards and also expect that from others- whether they are our clients, or our friends/family. We expect to be treated with respect and we stand our ground when we are being abused or treated unfairly. I apologize to the buying public at large for the unpleasant experience this client's review may have caused them. There's many types of people with various states of mind and personalities that we come across...and although we try to choose who we want to work for before taking on a job- once in a while our radar fails us and we get into a particular situation like this one. If you need additional information regarding this review (and client) please get in contact with us personally.) . . Hi [Member Name Removed]. Thanks for the message. We did some handyman work, namely, concrete "gapfilling" and grindings on your backyard patio at [Member Information Removed] Santa Clara, CA.... at completion you approved that work was done to your satisfaction- and you made final payment as agreed. When work is temporary in nature and on a T & M basis like your concrete "gapfilling" and grindings... we make it very clear that we don't provide 1)Guarantees and that all work is 2) FINAL AND AS IS... So yes you are correct... handyman jobs on a time and materials basis like the one we did for you ARE NOT GUARANTEED AND ARE SOLD AS IS. I originally advised you against patching with cement because this temporary work would only get worse with the passing of time... (you live on unstable ground and all patchwork will crack away)...nonetheless you decided to proceed as you didn't have the budget for a proper "remove and replace". Because you paid for our "TIME" (t & m basis) while onsite and nothing else- you only get to dictate all work and it's quality while we're physically "onsite"... after we leave you cannot request additional work for free in perpetuity as we have other clients we need to help too and we have no other contractual obligations towards you. When you requested us to come back again because you would like a little more grinding than what you had originally approved- the only way that that would be possible is if you would pay for additional time and hire us again on a T & M basis..... it's the only fair thing to expect. There's nothing strange about us requesting to be paid for our time for additional work. We also need to eat and feed our families... And I thank you for the opportunity to revise your review only in exchange for doing additional work for you free of charge...- but that is not only unethical- but it feels like a blackmailing move on your behalf. When no other paving contractor was willing to help you with this handyman work- we were the only ones willing to step up to the plate for this unwanted job... And I don't agree that we have to go back for FREE. So no we don't work for free. And no we're not interested in working with you nor providing to you our services. If anyone out in the buying public reading this is interested in talking to us regarding this review (and client)... please get in contact with us personally. Thanks. Sincerely Fred."
