Sousa's Garage Doors

My garage door spring broke and I was unable to open the door. Sousa's sent a technician within a few hours. The work was excellent and reasonable. I highly recommend this business. I'll certainly use them again.

We had to call them back because the garage door (when we opened it) made a cracking sound. They came out and fixed it but I still a loud cracking sound once in a while. We will have to call them out again, I think they could have done a better job installing it the first time.

I have used Souza's in the past and they have been excellent, and I have been a very good repeat customer.
Something has changed.  Despite numerous calls, they did not provide and estimate and the estimator did not even call me back.  
I went from being a huge proponent to being upset that they wasted my time.  I told them that they would be sole sourced for the job and now I am behind schedule as I kept waiting for their estimate....

Sousa's service was prompt (within 2 days of my call) and phone confirmations of my appointment were timely. Nelson was able to schedule a visit on a Saturday earlier than planned to fix my garage door, which would not open. He replaced two springs and suggested installation of safety clips to keep the springs from shooting through the ceiling if they broke. After the springs were installed, he discovered that one side of the door was not latching on the inside when closed. He installed a new side bracket and adjusted the door until both sides locked when closed. He also loosened an external latch that had been painted over, and found a rope in his truck that he knotted and tied to a hook on the inside of the door to make it easier to close. He was courteous, professional, and seemed genuinely interested in resolving every usage and safety issue with the door. He also instructed me in how to pull it closed properly. Given the fact that the door is original and is now 60 years old, it's amazing that there are technicians as skilled as Nelson who can restore a garage door to working condition so efficiently.

It went fine. Their price wasn't the top price but I thought that they would give me the best service.

They were our third bid, so we had an idea what we wanted. It was straight forward with no gimmicks (i.e. the second remote was included, not thrown in as enticement, etc.) When he came in slightly under, we signed immediately. Within a few days they were out installing. The installer had nothing but good things to say about the company, always a good sign. Without Angieslist we would have never found this company. We are very satisfied.

Overall experience was awesome. Made an appointment two days early. Due to some system or manual error, the technician did not show up on time. I called them, the owner realized the error, but they quickly resolved the issue and took care of it. Technician replaced the broken spring and adjusted the entire garage door. In fact, he fixed couple of issues the original door installer did not do right when we installed the door 18 backs back. Had a very good experience overall - highly recommended.

When the repairman showed up on time, he looked at our door and said and quot;I don't think I have the right size door.and quot; He did this just by eyeballing the door. After a few measurements were made, it was true, the door he had was not the correct size. Luckily, he noticed this before doing any kind of work, i.e., he noticed this before removing the old door. While not an ideal situation, Sousa had a new door delivered and installed within 3 days. The new install happened in record time and the repairman went above and beyond when installing. We highly recommend Sousa's Garage Doors. We also felt that the price was excellent ... we had expected this to cost a lot more!

Cables unspooled and the door was stuck open on Saturday morning holding us hostage. Called Souza's and within 30 minutes Joe Souza showed up. He was able to quickly re-spool the cabling and set it with the right tension. He also fixed the squeaking noise and without asking also tuned the trim settings on my opener. Now my garage door purrs like a kitten and I couldn't be happier!
All in all, this was a fantastic experience. Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and the service was out of this world. The cost was also much lower as I had expected to pay 3x-4x what they charged me.
