I purchased a Magellan RoadMate 2145T at BJ's in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on May 1, 2013. The unit stopped working on Dec. 14, 2013. I called tech-support on Dec. 31, 2013 and the nightmare began!! I was put on hold for over an hour - then was instructed to play with the broken unit as if I was an idiot who didn't know how to turn it on!!! Once the "tech-support" person finally realized the unit would not work, I was put on hold for another 20 minutes to get an address to mail the unit back!! Oh, by the way, I was informed that the one year warrenty only entitled me to a "refurbished" unit after one month (really small print) and then was told I had to submit the original receipt - which I can't find after seven months!!! Therefore, no refund!!!! The tech-support number is in India or some other non English speaking country - I could not understand half of what the reps were saying and had to ask them to repeat what they were saying many times. DO NOT BUY A MAGELLAN GPS!!!! The units are substandard - the service is non-existant - the company is unresponsive - AND - the "tech-support" is a complete joke!!!
