APRIL FLOWERS

This is a florist I have used for years with wonderful results. I have been able to call or come by to see April. I would give her the basics of what I was looking for and my budget, and she would always use what was freshest in her stock to make a beautiful bouquet. Unfortunately, the last time I went in I was told that April had left for law school. (Good for her, bad for me.) I explained that I wanted a Spring-like bouquet for my mom's birthday and had $50 to spend. She looked confused and asked if I wanted the "Spring Mixed Bouquet". I explained that I wanted a nice bouquet with fresh stock and would leave it to her to decide what was best. What I ended up with was "The Spring Mixed Bouquet" straight out of the FTD catalog. Some of the flowers were fresh, some not so much. There was nothing overtly wrong with it, but it was very generic and lacked the special touch I was used to.

The April Flowers contact was very courteous and knowledgeable. She suggested Premium Columbian roses. The delivery happened during the hours I requested. The flowers looked great, were a big hit and lasted over a week. I will use April Flowers again. The only downside is that the flowers were lacking in fragrance. They smelled somewhat dusty or musty. I take that to be caused by either the rose stock or the shipping from Columbia. Next time I'll try to get fresh, local roses.
