United Paving Inc

United Paving visited my home and provided an estimate of cost within 5 minutes of arrival. They did not measure - but simply guessed on size and then provided an estimate that we were told would be adjusted if the scope of the work was smaller / larger than expected. They immediately completed the work the following day. The quality seemed good, however the estimate of materials was larger than the actual work performed. 48 hours later - United Paving began calling to request immediate payment of the entire estimate amount. When I asked for a pro-rated cost based on the reduced size of the completed job - I was met with strong denial and harsh criticism. I was very disappointed that this company refused to abide by their guarantee to reduce the cost if the job ended up being a smaller amount of work. They eventually put a lien on my house to force payment. Since the difference was only several hundred dollars - my time isn't work dealing with dishonest people - and I chose to pay the full amount. I would not recommend them to others due to their billing practices.
