We discovered a sewage leak in our kitchen ceiling and called our insurance company.  I asked the insurance to provide a contractor to perform all needed demolition, cleanup, restoration of the areas.  At first the professionalism, courtesy, communication and work with excellent.  They explained all aspects of the work and assured that their crew operated as quickly and cleanly as possible.  I was particularly impressed how much of the existing walls and cabinetry they were able to save.  They brought in a subcontractor that did the mold abatement.  That is when things started to go south.  There rep (Tom) came over in the evening and explained the restoration steps.  All of a sudden and for no apparent reason he jumped up, grabbed a hygrometer and quickly tested certain areas around the kitchen baseboard.  He said there was still water and his crew will need to investigate. I kept asking if they were going to test for bacteria and expressed that I had little concern about the mold.  Over the course of the next few days we were told they had a big job in another city and it became impossible to get ahold of anyone.  When we did the person on the other end was no longer very professional.  Eventually, our insurance was brought back in the picture by Qwikresponse over the "second" leak.  Over the course of the ensuing 11 months we had a succession of engineers, bacterial testing, and others insist that an outside planter was responsible.  QwikResponse provided our insurance carrier with an extremely low ball estimate that even to an novice (myself) was devoid of big items such as the actual cabinet boxes and city permits.  We "fired" QwikResponse and brought in a Public Adjuster who brought other professionals in that indicated that the leak was from the movement of liquid from the original black water leak.  We brought in an excavator to rip out the planter and contractors to rip out the wall in question; the water was NOT coming from the planter!  The bottom line is that QwikResponse placed ourselves and insurance company at odds and that was really not appreciated.  We did eventual settle on just enough to bring everything back to normal with our own contractors.  I do not wish to hypothesize why QwikResponse did what they did but I can say I was upset that a job that should have lasted a few weeks went about one year because of what happened.

I called him as soon as I got his info and the first thing he asked he was if I had insurance.  I informed him that I did and asked me who it was, so I told him.  He said that he was going to call my insurance agent to look into it and he never called back or returned my calls.

We had burst supply lines under the sink flood our condo 4 inches deep from wall to wall. QwikResponse was great! They were definitely quick - they arrived with multiple people and got to work within 20 minutes of my call. I had no idea what needed to be done. Everyone from QwikResponse was friendly, professional, courteous, and understanding. It was a bit of a shock to go from a normal Monday morning to having to have most of our stuff moved out by the end of the day. The people from QwikResponse were understanding of the difficulty of our situation and helped us to get through it.
QwikResponse readily explained all our options for each step of the way, and had a list of contractors to recommend for other pieces of the work, all of whom turned out to be equally professional.
There was also damage to our neighbor's unit that QwikResponse took care of.  Our neighbor was also very satisfied with their work, and there were no issues between us related to our disaster also flooding his unit.
I would definitely recommend QwikResponse if you unfortunately have a disaster like we did. Don't wait to call, because every minute counts for the spread of the damage.
