We weren't happy with some of the trim install (we had a step up between two rooms) but we spoke to them about it and they redid it right away. Another quote we got was significantly cheaper, but I'm happy we went with them because they were professional, punctual and easy to deal with.
An estamate was given by Erik (Owner) the previous year. I explained that I was headed out of the country for a few months and would not be able to start until then. He said work would be slower then and gave an estimate gaurantee good for the time we had talked about and to just give him a call to schedule upon my return.
discussed.
When time came, the estimate was honored and job scheduled. My wife and I live a few hours out of town so during a long weekend we removed all the furniture to the garage and entrusted the key to Erik. Good communication throughout and was completed in appx 3 days.
Erik is a very amiable and down to earth man who holds to his word. This is actually the second time I have used his services the first being replacement of sub floor (25sf) in utility room due to some flooding and termites.
I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this company for any hardwood flooring needs.
The owner put a very seasoned crew of installers on our job. They offered good advice and showed interest and craftsmanship in their performance. The owner, Erick is very approachable and willing to address issues.
Our criticism would only be isolated to one room where a small area did not seem to get a good mixture of the wood patterns (hickory is fairly "active" pattern) and has what I might describe as a bland spot. But it is a small room and will shortly be mostly covered by furniture.
While these floors have not yet been truly time tested, the selection and installation experience with this company was quite good. Try to get all the loose ends (stuff like base shoe installation) accounted for up front in the quote, as this little stuff can add up at the end.
We hope the product favored by this company performs as well as Affordable has in the installation process!
