We had a wonderful experience working with Carol from Actual Art Landscape. We are so pleased with the final concepts. We began the process thinking we knew exactly what we wanted to do. Carol respected our wishes but also pushed us to consider other options to maximize our yard and create the family-friendly, entertainment space we wanted. Carol was always happy to talk through ideas and very easy to work with. Throughout this whole process, she also was also very careful to design within our budget. Ten years ago I hired Carol Ondrey to design a new landscape for my front yard and back. In the front, I wanted bamboo and grasses that would move with the wind, but in the backyard I wanted something different. I asked her to create a rock and drought tolerant garden. The project had to deal with the slope of the foothill area, adobe soil and the need to incorporate a living privacy parameter. Ms. Ondrey designed a landscape that to this day pleases my senses every time I enter the backyard. Her artistic and knowledgeable approach resulted in a garden that always looks fresh and pleasing. I have, to this day, not seen a garden that measures up to what Carol Ondrey created for my property.

Actual Art stresses the artistic composition of their landscape designs, the reasoned harmony of form and color. Coming from an industrial design and manufacturing background, I was more impressed with the precise engineering drawings the owner provided. Plant selection, soil amendment details, hardscape design, irrigation specifications, all were scrupulously documented. There wasn't anything left for the installation crew to ad lib. I have no doubt that my landscape has endured and thrived primarily because it was professionally designed and intelligently built.
