First American Corporation

The shower is broken. I called them and explained the situation. They sent someone to check the shower. The handle is broken due to the threads being worn. It took them five business days to tell me that the handle has to be changed. The problem was that they would only install nickel brush handles if I pay an extra $168.00. I went to Home Depot and found the handles for around $60.00. I called them back and asked if I could buy the handle. They said they only deal with their own products. I called First American and they said they could give me cash to pay for another plumber. They would give me $52.00 if I would close the claim. This is $3.00 less than there service fee for coming to check the handle.

This was probably the worst possible experience you can have in a business transaction in America. It was like we were on candid camera, I kept waiting for the cameras to jump out. Simple tasks that should take 10 minutes would take several days. They collected the escrow for my property tax and homeowners insurance but as of yet haven?t paid one. I got a call from my insurance company saying my payment was overdue and they deducted it from my checking account, so basically I?ve paid for it twice. Overall this was not a good experience. I hope this ends soon.
