Ed Jaglowski Construction

I hired Mr. Jaglowski for several jobs for a total of about $5,200 worth of services. Several of these jobs were performed as requested with only  minor issues. I asked him to replace the shower and tub plumbing. He did this work but did not replace the tub stopper as requested.  I hired him to install 4 canister lights in my office. He did this but left holes in my ceiling which he said he would come back to patch and paint. To date he has not done this. I hired him to do a substantial amount of wood repair that was damaged from termites. He completed this work as requested and I am satisfied with the job. Mr. Jaglowski was, until recently, great to work with.   THEN.....
I signed a contract for Mr. Jaglowski to build custom cabinets in my office, tile the floor and add mounding.  He requested a check for 50% of the job total.  I know this is more than is allowed by law but I did this anyway to help him out knowing that he was tight on money and needed the cash to buy materials.  He was to start on March the 3rd.  I texted him on the Friday night before to confirm he would be starting on Monday because it is a big deal to tear my office apart.  I use this office for work and have tons of computers, routers, printers etc to tear down and put back together. He did not respond till late Sunday night saying he would need to start on Wednesday instead.  Wednesday morning he called an hour after he was supposed to start saying he had a medical issue and would not be there for another hour.  He never called or came by that day or the next several days. . After several days he contacted me saying that he would not be doing the job so I asked for my $1,100 back. He said he would drop a check by. No check no Edward.  After many calls, texts and emails I got ahold of him again.  He again said he would be by with a check. No check no Edward. Now he does not answer my calls or texts. He has four times promised to come by with a check at a specific day and time and each time he does not show up, or call or answer calls or texts to explain why he stood me up again.  On Thursday I texted him to notify him that I would be filing an official complaint with the State Contractors board on Monday unless he delivered a certified check.  He swore he would be by Sunday night with a check...again no check, no Edward. He is a nice guy but it is apparent that he either thinks I am a fool or is outright stealing $1,100 of my money. I do not recommend anyone hire him!

Didn't invoice, we have no invoices. 
Flaked. Showed up late, or not at all. 
Gave us receipts for other people's jobs. 
Tried to avoid 1099.
Got paid in full, but never finished the job. 
Got his workers from a men's alcohol detox. 
He was paid up front in good faith, and didn't provide the service that was agreed upon. 
We have 150 photos and many emails, texts indicating the criminal activity of Ed Jaglowski of Santa Ana, CA.

I payed him in advance and he took advantage of me. He basically started off by leaving the A/C in my front yard for about 5 months. In this time he gave me every excuse in the book. Finally I basically got fed up and told him he needs to put the A/C in. He broke many of the things that he broke in my house. He does a lot of shady business practices like changing his name and bonds. He lied about many things. He was very hostile towards me and I had to call the cops to get him to stop. He was very rude. He basically told me he didn't feel like doing it anymore. He was all around just a nightmare. For some sneaky reason if there is a woman alone he conveniently turned off my alarm system which I didn't know about for weeks. Which is very dangerous because in this day and age you need an alarm system.
