She comes very highly rated as both a doctor and a surgeon.  She's nice and commuicates well.  The mammagram office and hospital are next door which is nice.   The new receiptionist is more efficient than the one in the past and even called me before my follow up was required.

I have seen Dr Kakkis several times over the past year. She is extremely intelligent, professional, thorough, and compassionate. She sometimes runs behind schedule, but that's because she spends as much time as is necessary with each patient and makes sure that you understand everything you need to know about your issues and that all of your questions are answered. Who wouldn't want a doctor who is this thorough, when it comes to cancer? She is incredibly compassionate too. I've seen many doctors during my cancer journey and she ranks right up there among the best!

Dr. John Link, the Director of Breastlink, is one of the best breast cancer onocologists around. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2007. He has been following me ever since. I've never been kept waiting in his office and he does something really unusual. After you have your exam in an exam room he asks you to meet him in his office. Breast Cancer is scary enough without being intimidated by disrobing and having to have a conversation about next steps right then and there. So it's also about the office staff and nurses. They are outstanding. Honestly, when I call their office it's like speaking with a girlfriend. I live in San Diego so have to drive two hours and 40 minutes r/t for my appointments. There are great oncologists in San Diego but, Dr. Link won my head, heart, and soul. I see him every three months.
