Bill was able to book my service the morning after my call. He explained his service call would cost $87.50 and covered up to 1/2 hour of work. He arrived promptly and quickly discovered the weak igniter. He patiently showed me what he was testing, and I watched as he quickly went through the electronics. While diagnosing the ignition problem he observed erratic readings in the controller board. I watched as the circuit went from 'on' to 'off' and back again, all by itself. Nothing was touched. He explained that this might indicate a pending failure. He called the tech people for Pentair and got confirmation of his suspicion. He said the part would be about $348, and we could just wait until the board failed, as it wouldn't hurt anything. I opted to have him replace the board so that I wouldn't be 'waiting for the other shoe to drop. The burners were showing signs of being clogged (spiders, etc) He removed the burners and cleaned them (not just by running a wire through the units, but actually removing and doing the job right). He pointed out a leak in a gauge fitting. He had the part and asked if I wanted it fixed. Again, he didn't try to push anything, and I could actually see and agree that a repair was needed. At the end of the day he spent, easily four hours, plus a trip to the parts store for the controller board. The total labor for everything was only $325 (I'm including the cost of cleaning the burner orfices with the labor charge). Solid knowledge, quick worker, honest, willing to explain what he is doing ... I'm putting him on my speed dial!! Great experience.

He showed up on time. He troubleshot the heater. He called Pentair tech support to verify his findings. He tested all components to make sure there were no other issues. He found a defective part and changed it. Everything worked. I asked him about some of my older pool equipment and he checked it all out. He found a leaking valve (fixed it). He found an older brass valve that was leaking by internally which was draining my spa down. He rebuilt it and it operated smoothly afterward. He spent the time to do the job right and didn't rush it.

He is very honest and he didn't over charge me. He told me how much he would charge and didn't try to charge anything extra.

Most of the pool services I contacted, would not touch the pool unless we did a complete resurfacing. I explained to Bill that I had major financial considerations, but I needed to get the pool up and running. Bill gave me a quote for a chlorine wash, which was a very good estimate. He worked with me on a financial level, and he ended up taking payments. He has really, really been great! I have hired his services, and for $100 per month, he comes and makes sure our pool is blue all month. Hello! That's great! He is a little bit of a kooky character, but he's honest, and a nice guy. He's also a little professionally limited.

Our pool equipment had an air leak and would not hold prime. Because of this, our pool filter system did not work and our pool was green. Bill came out and found the air leak immediately and fixed it without incurring any charges for parts etc. I only paid the agreed $95 trip charge. Then he offered to clean to pool since he spent so little time fixing the problem. We had suggestions from several pool service persons, none of whom discovered the problem. We were very pleased, and also hired him to do our pool service.
