Advance TV Service

Provider responded on same day I called, evaluated the problem, and quoted an estimate for the repairs.  Todd (technician) picked up the television the following morning and called me later that afternoon called to advise that the repairs were complete.  They are very competent, know what they are doing and do not waste any time.  Todd conducted himself in a professional yet friendly manner.

I found Todd (Kao's TV and Video Repair) on Angie's List with only 1 review rated "B" on Saturday, 08/16/2014.  He expressed that he would be here at my home between 2:00pm - 4:00pm.  At 4:18PM Todd called to say that he has been delayed and could arrive around 5:30PM which was a bit too late for me.  I made arrangements for him to come by the following Monday, 08/18/2014, between 10:00am - 11:00am.  Todd arrived at 11:00AM to check out my TV that did not have power.
He removed the back panel and tested the power supply cord and attached it to the TV.  He checked the wattage readings of the power supply board to find that the TV was receiving electrical power.  Without adjusting anything, Todd then stood the TV up and replug the cord to the outlet and suddenly for a few seconds the TV received power.  He then laid it down again and tested the memory on the main board and made a diagnosis that the memory board has malfunctioned.  He quoted $225 which included labor to replace the memory board OR $175.00 to fix & replace the memory chip only.  Since the TV is 8 yrs old and we plan to purchase the NEW technology TV I chose to have him fix/replace the memory chip.  Todd took my TV to his shop and returned in the evening fixed and working.   Todd warranties his work and the price changes by the length of warranty you choose to pay for. 
Total cost w/warranty was $185.00 and as of this day I'm totally satisfied with Todd's work and professionalism.

Even though the original problem turned out to involve a problem that could not be fixed, they were able to come up with an alternative to my satisfaction. I was very pleased with the service.

I picked up on 9/14/06, returned on 10/5/06. The TV set died again 12/2/06; I called for service on 12/4/06, and received no return call since.

KAO'S IS ALWAYS ON TIME AND ALWAYS WILLING TO WORK AROUND OUR SCHEDULE. NICE TO TALK TO AND THEY EXPLAIN THE REPAIRS IN DETAIL PRIOR TO COMPLETING THEM.

WE NEEDED A NEW TRANSFORMER, I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE, WITH THIS SIZE OF TV I CAN'T CARRY OR MOVE IT SO HE CAME TO OUR HOUSE. HE COMPLETED THE WORK IN ABOUT 2 HOURS, CLEANED UP AND LEFT. I WOULD REFER HIM TO ANYONE. I DO THINK HE IS A BIT EXPENSIVE.
