Joe and his team installed grass from scratch in our Carmel Valley home. They took away old dried up grass, re-leveled the area, installed a mesh under the grass to prevent more gophers from making holes, and installed new Marathon. It looks great! Joe and his team were very professional, and completed the work in the time they said they would. Joe cares a lot regarding the quality of the job and has excellent communication. He is both knowledgeable and friendly. When they came in we were still ruffled from a prior difficult experience with a hardscape company, and Joe and his team helped put us to ease. We had a great experience with them and highly recommend Joe and his team to anyone else.

It went very well. Joe and his crew arrived on time, worked hard and well, and did a good job of cleaning up.

Actually, it was one worker we love and always ask for named Manuel and he came out a week and a half ago. We've had our issues off and on with the owner, but we will continue to use them because we love Manuel. That man works fast, and he's fabulous. If I was grading only Manuel, he'd be a triple "A" He's beyond fabulous. He is absolutely the best I've ever encountered. Manuel always right on time. I think a lot of it is frustration on my part too. Because in California because of the never ending drought except for this last winter. They were offering reimbursements. They couldn't do anything; I guess they couldn't really do anything. I mean once water is involved you just can't do anything with it. I guess that's unfair of me. I think really overall they've been pretty good. They really started working with us and gave us a nice big extension on the whole thing.

OCT. 2016 : INITIALLY ALL WAS OK....A TWO MAN CREW DID THE WORK ACCEPTABLY ONCE PER MONTH, WHEN "GILBERT" WAS THE ON SITE TEAM SUPERVISOR/WORKER....GILBERT WAS VERY DILIGENT, A HARD WORKER AND WILLINGLY DID WHAT HE WAS ASKED TO DO AND PERFORM ALL THE SERVICES I CONTRACTED FOR AS LISTED ABOVE. I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH GILBERT'S WORK, HOWEVER, GILBERT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY FIRED BY OWNER: JOE MORENO OF (JM LAWNS) AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER PERSON: "AL"....INITIALLY AL PERFORMED SATISFACTORILY, HOWEVER HE NEVER DISPLAYED THE SAME " GO THE EXTRA MILE ATTEMPT TO PLEASE THE CUSTOMER/CLIENT" THAT GILBERT DID AND ON THE LAST VISIT TO MY HOUSE , THE WORK CREW (AL AND HIS CO-WORKER) HAD NOT FINISHED TRIMMING THE BUSHES OR ANY OF THE TREES, AND WAS GOING TO LEAVE MY WORK UNFINISHED . I ASKED "AL" WHY HE WASN'T FINISHING THE WORK(THAT I WAS PAYING FOR) ...AL TOLD ME: "HIS CO-WORKER HAD TO GO SOMEWHERE" (REFERRING TO HIS WORK PARTNER).....HE THEN SAID: "WE CAN ONLY SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON THE LAWN WORK AT (MY) HOUSE" !!!!!!(.TRYING TO JUSTIFY NOT COMPLETING THE JOB/WORK THAT I WAS PAYING FOR).........I LATER CALLED OWNER: JOE MORENO AND TOLD HIM THAT I HAD A PROBLEM WITH HIS WORK CREW (AL) AND WANTED TO MEET WITH HIM TO DISCUSS/RESOLVE IT. HE INITIALLY SAID HE WOULD MEET WITH ME AT THE END OF THE WEEK.....I ASKED HIM TO CALL ME BACK TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT AND HE NEVER DID. THE "ATTITUDE , LAZINESS, REFUSAL TO FINISH THE JOB HE WAS PAID TO DO" , ON PART OF "AL" DISAPPOINTED AND ANNOYED ME !!!!....THE LACK OF FOLLOW UP BY OWNER: JOE MORENO, TO DISCUSS/RESOLVE MY PROBLEM WITH HIS EMPLOYEES, INDICATES A LACK OF CONCERN FOR ME (THE CUSTOMER/ CLIENT).....I AM NOW SEEKING A NEW LAWN SERVICE TO HIRE. I HAD CONTRACTED WITH JM LAWNS FROM: OCTOBER 2016 THRU MAY 2017. THE DATE OF THE "INCIDENT" WITH AL , WAS ON 5/18/2017

Two individuals spend about 20-30 minutes accomplishing the recurrent tasks.  The lead person is familiar with other extra details that need to occur monthly, such as trimming vines and hedges.  He is willing to ask our neighbor for access to his property to trim vines that go into the neighbor's yard.  We appreciate these details as we like to promote good neighbor relations. When necessary, he will trim some trees and weed the yard.  I have two very dedicated individuals from JM Lawns working at my residence.  I appreciate their efforts very much!

AFTER NEGOTIATING A VERY REASONABLE MONTHLY FEE WITH JOE MORENO (OWNER OF J.M. LAWNS)...HE SCHEDULED HIS CREW TO COME TO MY HOME. THE CREW CALLED IN ADVANCE ON THE DAY THEY WERE TO SHOW UP. GILBERT (CREW SUPERVISOR) AND HIS ASSISTANT SHOWED UP ON TIME, I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING I WISHED TO BE DONE. GILBERT AND HIS CO-WORKER WERE EXTREMELY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, INCLUDING CLEANUP......I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK, PRICES AND ATTITUDE !!!!!...I WILL BE USING THIS COMPANY FROM NOW ON !!!!!

We have been happy with Joe's service. If there is ever a problem he is quick to correct it. The workers do a great job.

Joe and his crew have been my gardners for several years now. Gabriel is especially conscientious and will do things that need to be done with out my asking. The crew is always polite and very business like. Two other neighbors have hired them on my recommendation .

Always rotates job of trimming vines and bushes.  Does a consistent, excellent job.  Have used JM Lawns for more than three years every two weeks.  Love their work!

Badly, by the time the workers arrived we had done the majority of the weeding to make sure that the yard would be cleaned in the 2 hours alotted in the deal. Workers were very thorough and polite. The owner JM instructed the workers not to dispose of the waste even-though it was clearly offered in the deal. I immediately got on the phone with Angies customer services agent, who spoke to the workers and JM directly; JM assured the agent that the deal would be honored then called his workers and told them not to dispose of the weeds no matter what the Agent says. JM lawn service enlist very duplicitous tactics in its services, does not honor written contracts, and only performs the services it wants to with -0 consideration to the customer. This providers business tactics should not be allowed on Angies...Isn't this what we pay our membership to Avoid!!! I still have wood and weeds stacked in my yard and must find another Service to dispose of it.

I originally contacted JM Lawns by sending them a separate message through their website to see if what we wanted done would be covered under the AL Deal before I paid for it. They did email me back and asked me what we wanted done. I replied back that same day but then never heard from them again. I went on AL and read the fine print on what their $199 Deal covered and went ahead and bought the deal and gave them 3 dates we were available. 

We have a large slope that needed to be weed-eated and cleaned up as well as having our neighbor's bushes that were overhanging onto our property trimmed back. I was becoming worried because nobody from JM Lawns contacted me regarding the AL deal we bought and scheduling, etc. I was on the verge of calling them myself when a gentleman finally called me one evening and said he was with JM Lawns and was calling to schedule our deal. 

He never asked me what we wanted done, never talked about the AL deal, never said how many people would be showing up, etc. Nothing. However he did say that they would be out on Saturday sometime between 8am-10am. That was it. A quick call. Thankfully Saturday was one of the days we gave and I was pleasantly surprised that they would come out on a weekend - so that was a plus. Also, two guys showed up promptly at 10am. My husband told them what needed to be done and they got right to work. The deal said "two guys for 2 hours" and they wasted no time in getting our large slope cleaned up in addition to trimming back our neighbor's bushes hanging over our side. We were slightly disappointed that they couldn't or wouldnt rake everything down the slope and haul it off - they showed up in one small truck with a large trash can - but I did demand that they clean up the mess that was along the street and curb. They did do that. They also said they couldn't take the small - medium size branches and bush mess from the neighbor's stuff. My husband told them to just leave it in a pile at the bottom corner of the slope. (Luckily our neighbors had their slope cleaned up the next day so they took it)

Overall they did a very good job on cleaning up our slope, the guys showed up within the time limit we were given, and they worked quickly & were friendly. Our slope looks 100% better. Overall a good deal but their responsiveness could be better.
