I can only describe my experience with Mattei Construction using two words: AWESOME PERFECTION!  Richard Mattei did a down to the studs remodel of two bathrooms, including; enlarging the shower, building a pony wall, installing a pocket door,  floor heating, new ventilation system, framing a new closet with floor to ceiling french doors and numerous other projects.
Richard is a tile contractor as well as a GC and let me tell you that is the only way to fly.  He is an unbelievable ARTISAN?my tile looks like something you would see in Architectural Digest ? STUNNING AND FLAWLESS.
He does the work himself with his assistants, is on the job till it is done and works one job at a time.  He is very hardworking, a problem solver, thinks everything  through before doing ( no oops, no do-overs).  He is nice and easy to communicate with always making sure you are on the same page. Oh and did I mention he is a perfectionist.
This is the contractor you want doing your remodeling projects?no trauma, no tears, no fears, no unwelcome surprises, no MIA, just a fabulous exceed your expectations job.

He came and gave me a bid and suggested granite was a better material than tile for my countertop. He sent me to a granite and tile emporium where I looked at a lot of granite and chose what I liked. I did have to do that alone and it could have ended badly but it didn't. I paid for my granite and Richard and his fabricator picked it up and created a template. They then cut the granite and came the next day and installed it. Richard then repaired some area behind the faucets in the wall and then tiled the backsplash and grouted it. He cleaned up really well. I am very happy with the finished countertop and highly recommend Richard Mattei's work.
