They are FANTASTIC!!!!! They have a year warrantee and have been back to replace plants because they have died. They gave a free quote and drawing for what I wanted. They undercut the competition by 50% and offered more. There were some hiccups but they always came back to fix it right away. I was totally impressed. I would recommend them to anybody.

The design phase was great; we felt comfortable in our selection of this contractor largely due to the designer (Jennifer) who captured in the design what we described during the interview process. After the design phase was complete, we paid the $1500 to Kand B to get a copy of the plans (no surprise, it was clearly stated); since we chose to have Kand B do the landscaping job, the design fee was waived and counted as a deposit on the job as stated in their estimate. We decided to proceed with Kand B since we had such a good experience with our designer. On pricing, I believe the Kand B price was high considering our relatively small lot and relatively simple design. However, given that two of our neighbors had very bad experiences with other landscape companies (not showing up, bad workmanship, etc) we decided to go with Kand B as they seemed to be a more legitimate company.
Unfortunately, after we signed the contract, our designer had to take a leave of absence. Changes we wanted to make to her design took several months for Kand B to complete. The details and discussions were sometimes lost in the process; communication did not happen as easily as it had with Jennifer.
During the initial construction phase, the biggest problem we encountered was selecting hardscape materials; pavers and colors for the concrete and grout. Kand B themselves was of little assistance to us in this part; in fact, the businesses where they sent us to select pavers, flagstone, etc were not used to purchase the materials. I did not like this as I felt I had wasted the time of the company where they sent us... Kand B did not help much in coordinating colors; now they were telling us they didn't get involved in this part of the design. I should have insisted on samples, not just pictures for choices. To this day, I remain disappointed in the color of the pre-cast concrete we used as a result. It is not a perfect match, and we remain unhappy with this result. I also think if the original designer had been available to us at this time in the process, this problem may have been averted with hardscape selection.
The construction started on time when promised; a week or 10-days of rain related delays was ok and explained in an email indicating this from Kand B. The landscape workers used by Kand B were very good; they know their stuff. I was happy with the quality of the work. After design was complete, we got a notice from the city that we hadn't pulled a permit for the low-voltage lighting. Apparently, Kand B did not know (?) this was required which was a surprise to me given they had done several neighbors houses. In any case, they worked this out with the city and got the required permits for our job.
Maintenance wise, it has been about 6-months since they did the work; they have come back once to replace some young plants that died. I am still having a few problems with the drip-system they installed; not sure I like that type of irrigation, but in any case, I hope they do come back to make corrections (apparently an underground leak has developed). If they take care of the issues within the 1-year warranty as promised, I will continue to rate them as and quot;goodand quot;. They could have been excellent if not for the issues mentioned above.
