Dan's Air Duct Cleaning

Great work!

It was awkward to schedule.  He lived nowhere close.  He was very preoccupied with how my rate him.  THis is why I avoided it for a very long time.
As a general comment, research the actual need to do air duct cleaning.  Most of the time, it serves no purpose.

He convenience me to buy a new filter. He went through the house and put a vacuum thing to clean the duct. I did not find the experience satisfactory.

The service went fine. This was the first time that I used them. I thought they were neat and tidy, and it seemed like they did a good job.

They arrived on time. Were courteous and completed the described job.

They did fine, but forgot the dryer vent.  I called but we did not work out where they came back.

Absolute Worst!!!  Would never use Dan's Air Duct Cleaning again.
I called Dan and expressed to him that I needed to have my dryer vent cleaned.
He told me that if I got my vents cleaned at a price of $300 he'd throw include the dryer.
I agreed.  The technician came out and cleaned the vents but did not do the dryer.
He said that my dryer vent appeared to be clean but that a portion of my vent was disconnected
and sitting on the concrete slab behind the wall.  He said I needed to have a handy man come
out and cut through the sheet rock and connect the vent and all would be okay.
I contacted a handyman who came out and cut through the wall only to find my vent intact. 
He snaked through the dryer vent and pulled out piles of lint which was clogging the vent.
I had to pay him $120 for his work when Dan's Air Duct Cleaning should've done the work
that they came out for. 
I left Dan several messages....none of which he returned because he knew I wanted to discuss some
sort of reimbursement for the dryer fiasco.  I finally got him on the phone and he was extremely rude
and arrogant.  He told me that he wouldn't reimburse me a dime and that I got $300 worth of work out of them whether my dryer ended up working or not.  He told me that the fact that I had to hire a handyman (all based on his technician's recommendation) to do the dryer was not his problem.
This is no way to treat people.  His arrogance and non-responsiveness to my several messages is very lousy.
I would not recommend his company to anyone.

I think that the cleaning is worth it. I think they did a fine job in terms of what they do and in terms of improving the quality of the air. But I actually remember reading a number of articles saying that it’s probably better to just leave them alone. I had problems scheduling with them. They didn’t show up the first time and then we had to reschedule the next time. The service was a special through Angie’s List.

They were good. I asked them if the dryer was included and he said it was included and I told him that it wasn’t done and he came back and did it for me. That was excellent. The experience was fine. They did the job that I wanted them to do. Everything was fine.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was okay. They were nice, but I don't think they did a very thorough job, because I found dust after they were gone. He pressured me to buy an air filter, that I don't even know if it was necessary and useful. The ducts were cleaner than they were before , but I found socks and stuff like that, which I think he would have been able to get out.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. I was happy. They did a good job. They were thorough and they didn't make a mess. I stayed with them throughout the time. There wasn't a lot in the air ducts or the dryer but it was very clear that they efficiently checked it and cleaned it out.

They brought a big vacuum with a spinning brush at then end.  Cleaned three of the vents, but then shorted out the vacuum and had to schedule a second appointment after fixing their machine.  They could only clean the large vents and had to skip two rooms that have narrower ducts.

They did the work, no fuss, no bother.  I assume that their suction was strong enough to clear the ducts of whatever was in there.

He was very nice on the phone, but sent one of his techs to do the cleaning.  The tech was nice, but his equipment broke down before he could finish.  They followed up with a phone call, but never came out to complete the job.  They also didn't equipment to clean the smaller ducts.

They were fine. I don't think it was actually necessary in the end. They were good and totally nice but that just was not what I expected. They got something done that I wanted to get done for a while.

Generally it was good.  They cleaned the dryer vent from the outside and due to the length of the access and the 90 degree turn in ti, they did not get it all cleaned out.  It would have required that they unhook the dryer and try from both ends.  I didn't realize this until a year later when I replaces my dryer.  I'll know better next time.
They were very friendly and I believe they tried to do a great job.  I would hire them again and now I am smarter.
