Mr Handyman

Crystal from Mr. Handyman did an excellent job, everything we asked for and more. She was neat, professional and the pricing was reasonable. I would definitely use her again.

She did a rotten job. She opened a passageway to move some kitchen appliances. She cut through the tile and ruined the counter. She made a mess and charged a fortune for it. There's nothing to do now except hire someone else to repair what she did. She took valuable copper wire, and I had to have that replaced too. She took things she shouldn't have taken.

When the handy woman tore out my cook top she did a sloppy job and destroyed more of the tile on the surrounding countertops. She did not have the correct tools to cut the tile, so I have a lot of unnecessarily broken tile. When she removed the microwave she removed the chrome uptake vent as well. She disengaged the copper tubing from the refrigerator, but I did not want it thrown away, she did get rid of it. She did not make the opening for the new stove wide enough. She came back and fixed it without incident, but did damage to more tile. She did not turn my cold water back on. I called this morning and they said everything was already taken to the dump. I paid $30 per item to be hauled away and the estimate was for four hours was quoted at $476, but that did not include the haul away cost and I ended up paying $641.66, which included the charge to haul away three items. I will have to pay to get my tiled repaired and to get more copper tubing to connect to the refrigerator. I did not ask her to remove the overhead vent and I will have to pay for that to be replaced as well. The handy woman was very pleasant, but she said the estimate on the job was for $1000, which was way above what I was quoted. What annoys me is that she was not careful and she took away the overhead vent and the copper tubing.

The work wasn't great. It started with him getting here and not having what he needed to do the job, so then he was going to send me to get the supplies. He ended up going and he was gone an hour and a half. They charge a two hour minimum so an hour and a half was lost. The old grout was cracked so he really didn't replace the grout; he just went over it with a seal. Finally it is sealed, but it still has water that goes through. I am not pleased.

I liked this company because they hired interns to help them do the work. They would come and assist after their classes. Plus, the work they did was really great. That wall has stood strong since they rebuilt it. I was really pleased with this particular company. I would tell others they were very good to deal with.

Brian showed up promptly. He understood what was asked of him which was somewhat complicated to explain. He followed my instructions to a "T" and and did a beautiful job. He was a neat worker using drop cloths and sweeping up after himself. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Service men were prompt, polite, neat and competent. However, I was told on the phone to expect a total of between $300-$400 and it was more than twice that. I would not hire this company again without checking other qualified bidders first.

He did an excellent job, was on time and very friendly. The company kept me informed of when he would arrive. My only negative comment is the price. They charge $45 just to come, and then $90 an hour. Paying $225 to get the shower re-caulked seems a little pricey, but neither my husband nor I could do it, so I guess we had to pay the price.
