The new roof was installed improperly.  The roofer failed to install proper venting which is essential to the life of the roof.  It looked beautiful in June but by the time of storms in December, stains formed on the livingroom ceiling.  I called the roofer and he came out and said there is not a leak, and he told me to get a dehumidifier.  I received two opinions in January from roofers who said the roof should have been vented, and without venting it will overheat in the hot weather and mildew in the wet weather, which will cause the roof to deteriorate quickly and also cause moisture problems inside the house.  It was supposed to be a 30 year roof.  An air gap was needed from the ridge to the eves.  This requires possibly tearing out the new roof. The roofer responded to the information on venting with "Boo to You."  He must be in his 30's or 40's.  He also suggested a repair method of cutting strips down the plywood, which I was told would destroy the sheer value of my home.  A licensed roofer should know how to vent a roof properly and should not suggest make shift repairs.  I went to the bond company and received a partial check with no explanation on how to repair my roof for the monies provided.  So by now over a year has gone by with no resolution.  This contractor receives most of his business through Yelp, but the review I posted on Yelp disappeared in a short time.
