+ -1 moreI've provided a report on this Roofer in the past. Unethical, scope changes throughout process; aggressive in forcing excess payments, BEFORE work is completed Argumentative, uses illegal laborers with no workers comp. Upon checking with State Department of Corporations and Contractors Licensing Bureau found the company had not paid it's overdue fees, yet the owner aggressively insisted on being paid, while setting foot twice in 10 visits by his labor force. I am convinced his laborers, with one or two excpetions were not Green Card certified and he pays them "under the table." I had hired this company with explicit provisio they would have Workers Comp; use registered, tax-paying employees and would complete the job, as contracted. They did none of the above.
Description of Work: Tear off of tar & gravel roof via small leak unable to locate to repair properly. Retained Aussie Roofing in August 2010, with work never completed to expectation nor contract. Paid $32,150 in spite of problems to remove mechanics liens this dishonest roofer aggressively asserted. Cost estimate increased, owner was unethical and changed scope of work to eliminate key requirements, such as drains around perimeter of home to attempt to explain alternative of "dutch gutters," effectively a recessed area around the perimeter of the roof that contributed to the very same problems I'd had before. Water would pool and pour over side of roof to create unsustainable ingress & egress. When it rains it sounds like a herd of cattle are running across the roof and when it rains I hear a persist "drip, drip noise that leaves highly anxious family members. I would not hire this firm if they were the last Roofer on the planet.
