Stress-free, and finally a contractor who shows up and works! 
After our initial meeting he came up with a design that was exactly what we were looking for (especially in incorporating our dogs? needs for the yard). He and his crew transformed our dead-grass backyard into an elegant, stylish and drought-friendly space. He designed a layout of a wide variety of drought-resistant, low maintenance plants, and added durable ground coverings that our dogs love.
A big plus: His crew arrived early every morning and worked all day (something we?ve found to be unheard of in our past experiences with any contractors). From design to completion, Nick and his crew were efficient and easy to work with. Along the way, we requested a few changes and they were incorporated immediately and with no hassle. I highly recommend Urban Organics Design to transition your landscape.

Nick and his crew were outstanding! They were on time, on budget, clean, fast, and professional. Nick oversaw each stage of the project, often showing up several times a week to check progress and clean up the worksite. He kept in contact with me throughout the project and helped me bring my ideas into fruition better than I could ever think of myself. Nick listened to me and adapted the landscaping to suit my taste and needs. In some instances, the workers went beyond what was contracted to help me move some plants and clean up some areas around the project. I get comments all the time about how nice the project came out, and even have neighbors who want to follow suit. The new landscaping will save me in time and money because the plants are all water-wise and need little grooming. Urban Organics was a reasonable price compared to the other companies that came out; but I can't imagine a better more personable company exists. I would recommend Nick to anyone who has landscaping needs.

From the beginning it was difficult to get a timely response from Nick. The finished design did not incorporate a specific function that I had requested from the beginning, a locking latch, so a crude work around was created. When I asked for a final finishing detail to help patch up the work around, Nick said that he would do it, and then never did.
The gate does not latch properly because it is not seated properly on the hinges and because it was not designed to have this kind of closing mechanism.
There were also key features of the surroundings which Nick, the designer, was unable to see, even when I pointed them out to him.
I had admired his work in the past, as I used to live near a house he landscaped, but in this instance, I received very shabby treatment and poor quality work, possibly because it was obvious that he would not use my place in his portfolio. Either way he phoned it in, but the price did not reflect that.

They were very creative and did exactly what I wanted them to do. They listened to me and also explained things well. They took some time to finish the project but the end result was good.
