Recently my wife and I decided to remodel our home, kitchen, dining room and wood floors throughout. We knew we wanted the best materials, quality work and a contractor that we could trust. After shopping at several different locations looking for wood floors, we found exactly what we were looking for at only one place, Lou’s Flooring. His son Josh did a great job with explaining the different types of materials, quality, cost and benefits of the many samples that they have on display. We were able to find exactly what we wanted. After researching contractor’s, my wife and I decided to go with Lou’s company because of his reputation for quality service, reliability and trust. He did not let us down. Lou’s Flooring did an outstanding job. The finished product was the high quality work that we were hoping for, and the outcome exceeded our expectations. We had a very positive experience throughout the process. During demolition the dust was kept to a minimum, they kept the work site and property clear and free of debris, by removing trash daily. We were very pleased that the job progressed without unnecessary downtime and delays. Lou provided great advice and recommendations that gave us a better outcome. Lou communicated with us every step of the way. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen, dining area and beautiful hardwood floors. We had a major flood at our home in Palos Verdes and we needed a trustworthy contractor to come in and fix the issues. We didn't know where to start, but after talking with several friends and neighbors, we heard, time and time again, AMAZING things about Lou's Floor & General Contracting. We interviewed many contractors in the Palos Verdes area, but decided to go with Lou's Floor & General Contracting! Out of all the contractors we talked to, Lou's Floor & General Contracting were the most experienced, qualified and innovative to complete the job. Lou, Josh and their crew were amazing! They came up with such great design ideas. They came in and installed custom 8" distressed walnut flooring, custom oak baseboards, repaired drywall to ceiling and walls, built a custom white-wash oak cabinet in bathroom, repainted the whole downstairs, redid lighting and even carpet cleaned our wool area rugs. They were such a pleasure to deal with, we would hire them in a heart beat again! I highly recommend them to all my family, friends and neighbors!

In November 2017 Lou's installed wood floors in our living room and adjoining bathroom and laundry room. From beginning to end the service was excellent. The actual installation lasted five days. The two installers were always on time, and always cleaned up at the end of each day. We are very picky and the quality of the work is excellent. We have decided to install new wood floors downstairs and we will definitely use Lou's.

It's true! They really do treat you like family at Lou's Floor Covering! From the beginning, Lou was engaged and interested in what we wanted and offered so many great ideas, especially those that would have a lasting impact on space utilization. He took my inspiration photo and got started selecting ideas for materials, cabinetry and fixtures, even before we signed a contract, and all throughout the job. Not only do you get a great project manager with Lou, but you also get a natural designer! Communication was exceptional! Lou was available via text, phone, and in person; we never felt someone else's job was more important than ours, even as it was coming to a close. He spent time learning about who we are as customers to accommodate our needs and desires. The workmanship was excellent too! Tile installation, cabinet maker, painters, builders... they were all professional, friendly, and skilled in their crafts. Lou made sure they attended to every detail to meet his high standard and ours. And aside from the added cost for needed repair, the project was completed on time and on budget! I am thrilled with the outcome of my beautiful spa bathroom, and I love that we supported a local family business (his 2 sons run the business with their dad). I highly recommend Lou's Floor Covering! The experience has inspired us to look to Lou's for more of our home decorating and remodeling needs!

Excellent results. Complete gut and remodel of small bathroom, including shower, sink, toilet, cabinet, countertop, linen cabinet, lighting, vents, flooring and window covering. Lou was very hands on in design, monitoring work with frequent visits, and providing recommendations as work progressed. Very focused on insuring our complete satisfaction as work was done. Workers were very friendly and professional. Project completed within original estimated timeframe. Would highly recommend Lou's Floor Covering.

My wife and I received estimates to install engineered hardwood flooring from Lou's son Josh and two other flooring contractors. Josh's estimate was not the lowest but we thought it was the fairest, and he impressed us with his knowledge and professionalism. So we decided to go with Lou's Floor Covering and are very glad we did. Josh's workmen Ken, Chris, and Aaron are really craftsmen because not only did they install the hardwood flooring in four rooms, they built beautiful new bullnosed stairs with 22 1/2 degree corners, of the same hardwood flooring material, down from our entry foyer to our living room. Take a look at the two pictures we've included with this review. By the way, not only are they skilled craftsmen, Ken, Chris, and Aaron are also very easy-going and friendly, as is Josh, which made this project much more pleasant and less stressful than other home improvement projects we've had done in the past.

Lou spent a lot of time helping/guiding us in picking out the right products and creating a great new design. The various subcontractors and LFC employees were on-time, courteous, hard-working , and cleaned up after their day’s work. We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship and they were nice guys too. Lou was always available to help guide each step in the process. Thank you Lou!

Absolutely fantastic. The installers were extremely qualfied, and did great work. The quality of the installation, and attention to detail, was simply outstanding. In the course of the project, there were some questions and unexpected developments. No work was done until we were completely satisfied and gave approval. Received a lot of TLC through the project by Josh, and Lou.

The original statement of work just included the removal / demo of older existing hardwood and carpet -- and then replace with new Provenza product. I decided to add new Italian marble to both of my bathrooms -- which also included demolition and removal of the existing flooring. First -- I'd like to commend the crew who came into my home to do the work. It was clear, after watching for a short while, that they were most concerned about minimizing "cosmetic" damage to the walls, cabinets and granite during the demolition phase. In fact, I was pleased that only a few "nicks and dings" to woodwork and walls occurred. I actually expected there to be more given the difficulty of removing the older hardwood which was glued entirely. All of my professional appliances and piano were carefully moved and protected during the removal and installation without any damages..... Also -- I would like to commend the crew on doing everything they could to protect my home with regard to construction by-products (dust, wood pieces and particles, glue) from being tracked into my home etc. They were meticulous with their daily clean-up -- and even had to work a couple of days under umbrellas while it was raining. They were not deterred and kept very long days in order to ensure the project was completed as scheduled without any disruption or delays. They showed up on-time each day and worked tirelessly -- and carefully -- to get the new wood down as perfectly as possible. Though the baseboards were part of the original contract, new door casings were not; I agreed to have them done while the crew was at the home at an additional expense -- which was added to the contract baseline. Though I would have preferred to know about that additional potential growth in the statement of work -- it was clear after the old casings were removed and the new installed -- that it was the right decision and I thanked Lou for bringing the additional work to my attention. Now that the new hardwood flooring, baseboards, casings and marble have been in for a few weeks now, my guests continue to compliment me on the work, materials I selected and the change to my home's indoor appearance. I would highly recommend Lou's Flooring for any of your home's flooring needs. He maintains a very professional and capable crew and I'm confident that you will also have a GREAT experience with he and his company. Yes -- he will treat you like family!!! They are an excellent company! The owner came to meet with us and his communication skills were excellent. Plus he was very detailed in his proposal so there were no surprises. The two floor installation contractors also had excellent communication skills, demonstrated outstanding craftsmanship and left our home very clean upon departure every day. I would highly recommend them.

Overall: Expertise combined with quality, a designer aesthetic, and a family business that is a pleasure to work with. Supporting this San Pedro business really paid off. There's definitely a reason they've been so successful for years.

The remodel went exactly as we hoped. Lou's flooring was exceptional. They were punctual, professional, and did outstanding work for what we felt was a very fair price. Payments to them matched the progress of work, and never before the work was finished. The level of detail and follow up that his entire crew had while working on our townhouse was top notch. We actually finished our remodel in October '15 but waited to see if any problems would arise (settling, etc.). Happy to say NONE occurred, but Lou still followed up with us a few months after to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend Lou's flooring and intend to use him again if the need arises.

I am very pleased with the professionalism in doing business with Lou, his son Louis and all the staff at Lou's Floor Covering.  They took the time to really listen to my needs, made great suggestions.  Their quote was considerably less that other estimates I had.  The materials they used was high quality and the installation of my new kitchen and bedroom floors was top notch.  When I asked to correct some minor details I got no argument and the corrections were made promptly.  Chris the installer paid a lot of attention to detail and was very courteous.  Lou's Floor Covering we're above and beyond my expectations.  All new molding and thresholds were included in the price and my bill for services and materials was exactly as quoted.  I highly recommend doing business with Lou's Floor Covering!

Lou's Floor was recommended by a friend.  We had Josh come to our home for an estimate.   He evaluated the floor and advised it appeared the floor was incorrectly installed.  
We had an independent floor inspector come to our home and he confirmed that the floor was installed incorrectly.
Lou's flooring came to our home and removed the floor that was improperly installed.  This took about 2 full days.
On the 3rd day, the foundation to the new floor was installed.  On the 4th, 5th and 6th day, the floor was installed.  
The team did a extremely professional job from beginning to end.  
I would in a heartbeat use this company again and would highly recommend this company for anyone who asked.

Lou's Floor Covering is a small family business in San Pedro, CA of a father and two sons.  I enjoyed working with Louis, one of the sons, on this project. He communicated well with us, sending me an email almost every day of the project to keep me in the loop on the schedule.  Louis was also very responsive and accommodating when I emailed him questions or design choices.  Their crew did a quality job on the tiling, flooring, and the custom mantle is beautiful!  Louis really cared about how we felt about the project, and wanted to keep us happy.  I'm thinking about re-doing our kitchen, and I'll definitely call on Lou's again!

After the purchase of a 2 bedroom Condo in San Pedro, we
needed 2 bathrooms remodeled. We searched Angie?s list for local contractor?s
and began the process to get estimates. 
When Lou from Lou?s Floor Covering showed up to give us a
quote, we knew almost immediately he was the one we wanted.  He let us know what he would do with the
bathrooms and he envisioned exactly what we wanted before we even told
him!  The cost was higher than we
expected but it was well worth the price.
He gave us details of each project and cost in writing. He
kept us up to date with the progress, inquired what type of fixtures, paint
colors, sink types and had us select the granite for the counters from the
yard. His entire crew was extremely professional, prompt, polite and
meticulous.  Lou?s Floor Covering stayed
right on schedule (even through the NOV-DEC Holiday?s) and accomplished even
more in addition to the original 2 bathrooms; Another half bath remodel,
Porcelain Tile Floors in All three Bathrooms, Kitchen, Family Room and Entry, Demo
of a built-in wall unit, Install and paint baseboard Molding in the entire
house, Granite Kitchen Counters and Travertine Backsplashes, Installed pocket
doors in bathrooms, and reface the Fireplace with matching Porcelain Tile. We
did not live in the home at the time of the remodel.
We highly recommend that you use Lou?s Floor Covering for
your Remodel and we plan to see him again soon when we decide on a new
staircase railing!
