They guys were really professional, super friendly and will tell you when you to do a repair versus no wait a couple of months or save the money now and deal with it later or whatever. I never go in there feeling like they are trying to do extra work to run the bill up and that's rare to find in a mechanic. All the repair that I've had done there have always come out okay and if I ever had a problem in the future I just take it back to them and they will either fix it or they would fix the new problem that would come up, but I've had to return my car once there and they just waited for about half an hour and gave it right back and with no extra charge.

We are happy with them.

They are very honest. They do not do any work that they have not told you about, or quoted you for. Their integrity is really great. My whole family uses them. We have bought and sold cars for 35 years, and we repair old cars and get them back on the road all the time, so if you have a mechanic that you know is going to give you everything that you would give yourself, it makes it really important to praise them. They know us by name. They know us by voice. They do everything they can to make you feel that your important, and that you are going to have your car when you want it. Their customer service is better than any mechanic we have ever dealt with. They also deal with anything from classic cars to brand new, top of the line technology.

We own a 2003 Saturn wagon and the Saturn company, as most everyone knows, has gone out of business. When it came time to have our car registration renewed this year, we discovered that it needed a smog certificate. The car passed all emission tests but failed a functional check because of a 'check engine light' that was on due to a faulty oxygen sensor. We took it to Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, since they are supposedly the ones who are now the experts to work on Saturn cars. Martin Chevrolet wanted $1500 to give the car a tune-up and install the oxygen sensor! That seemed extremely expensive, and we were thinking of donating the car rather than spend that much. We looked around and found Butch's Auto Repair, which was close to home, and are so happy we did. Butch's Auto Repair is wonderful! They are honest, friendly, down-to-earth, AND provide great technical expertise with professional service. We ended up paying only $240 for installation of the oxygen sensor and Butch told us that it probably didn't even need a tune up. The car passed the smog test the following day, and I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to them. I wholeheartedly recommend Butch's Auto Repair.

Very happy with the honest and prompt service. John "Butch" was very friendly when I called in, and when I showed up in person (with a very dry wit to boot). He explained everything clearly, and I heard him doing the same for other customers ahead of me. I've had a similar experience with another Honda I took in to them that was leaking coolant - they just adjusted a hose and charged a minor amount for service instead of billing me large sums for service and parts that weren't needed. I'm very happy with the honest service and will be back for any repairs/maintenance in the future.
