Sleep Haven Bedding

We had such a good experience buying 2 excellent mattresses three years ago we came back. Sleep Haven apparently has done so well they've opened a new store in San Mateo, and now Ali has moved there, and Kenny is in Redwood City. He too is a real gentleman. Sleep Haven is a large, uncrowded showroom, right across the street from Target and from Sleep Train. They were a tremendous comparison with the crowded, busy, pushy Sleep Train across the street. There's no pressure at Sleep Haven. Nobody tried to price us up. Prices weren't low but they were competitive. They offer attractive deals on floor samples, forty percent off, and our first two mattresses were floor samples. We've enjoyed them for three years now. So we came back when my son wanted to buy a new mattress too. Kenny really knows mattresses, answered any questions, made no attempt to price us up, left us alone to experiment when we were ready to do that. Buying his first mattress, knowing he'd have to sleep on it for many years, my son changed his mind at the very end-- I had actually started filling out the form with Kenny-- and said he needed to think it over more. Kenny was a perfect gentleman about it and I thank him for his patience. I noticed on Yelp (though you can't ever really trust those reviews) that other people report having belatedly changed their minds and modified their orders, no problem. It matches our pleasant experience of Kenny when my son had to change his mind at the last minute. We did come back, weeks later, and bought a mattress. The mattress was a little pricey, but Kenny was willing to throw in a bed frame with it when I asked. I gave them an A for price, since he threw in the frame. The mattress was 800 dollars, top of the line, my son's favorite. It arrived swiftly, and exactly when Kenny said it would. It was the same delivery man we had three years before, Junior, and his pride in the company expanding to San Mateo said a lot to me about staff morale. Junior needs a mention all by himself. That jolly giant assisted by a guy half his size, had to move a huge couch first, to get the bed up a narrow circular staircase. Then they had to move other things, not strictly in their contract, you know. Very happy to do it, no problem. It was 95 degrees that day, too. They didn't ask for a tip, but it was so much work I gave Junior twenty dollars to split with his little assistant-- all of which he promptly handed to the assistant, saying, "He's a good guy." Wow. Nice guy. Ali, Kenny and Junior struck me as an unusually fine bunch of people, working in a place they enjoy working. They're not short timers, they're professionals at this, and they know their business. The products we bought have been excellent. Great vibes and a very pleasant experience.
