This letter should suffice;
Mike;
Judy and I just want to express out thanks and pleasure for the wonderful job you did on
our home exterior. We are very pleased with the result.
We were also very pleased with your exceptional crew. Mike and Edder were always busy
but also always considerate of our perhaps sometimes interference. They were very polite
and tolerant of our presence.
Thank you also for your understanding of our early impatience regarding your available start
time. We now more appreciate that you are at the mercy of seasons and weather.
We wish for you a blessed holiday season and a profitable new year.

The entire experience was very bad. They did a very poor job painting. We had countless areas where our original paint color was not covered. And, they obviously did not apply a second coat to our trim (which we paid a premium for). When they were nearly done, they started pressuring me for payment. I explained that my husband found a lot of issues which he reviewed with the foreman. They started to fix those and the foreman started pressuring me again for a check. I explained that my husband wanted to do a final walk through. He asked if he could come now (11 am). I explained he was in meetings and could come later in the afternoon. I also offered payment for 1/2 if they needed that before going to their next job. They left and the foreman came back and met my husband at 4:30. Mike Bright refused to come. He was rude on the phone and asked my husband, and quot;why should I bend over backwards for your schedule? why can't you bend over backwards for my schedule?and quot; We found a lot more trouble areas and the foreman spent the next 2 hours painting. At this point, we wanted them gone. When we went to pay, they asked for more money for an extra coat on the door. We said no. If the owner wanted to call me and discuss payment, he could. We paid him the entire amount from our quote (even though they did not deliver a quality product). The next morning, the owner, Mike Bright left a rude and threatening phone message claiming we were and quot;screwingand quot; him out of $100 and it was a and quot;bunch of crapand quot; and if we weren't such and quot;painsand quot; then he might have worked with us. He threatened that if we didn't send a check in 5 days, that he would void our warranty. Warranty for what? Shotty work. No thanks.

I would definetly choose M. Bright to paint my house again. Mike is easy to work with. He supplied a great team to do this project.
My only caution is if you agree to a start date, be ready because once they start there will be very little idle time.Peggy K.

It went very well. They were supposed to start on Mon, 2/11/2013 but they were able to start early and did the entire job in 2 days (3 guys on day 1 and 5 guys on day 2). They were very prompt, if not early. Jef, the foreman, was fantastic and very professional. He kept me very informed about what was going on both days. I was surprised at what the house looked like the first night but they put it all back together the second night, although I did need to wipe down the fine dust and vacuum.
I was super impressed that they really took care not to let my elderly cats outside. Jef even carried the 19-year old upstairs!
When I found one small area that needed a touch up and a few drips that needed cleaning, Jef was over the very next morning.
I would absolutely recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Mike and his crew did an outstanding job painting the exterior of this home. I was so pleased with his professionalism and the quality
and price of the work that I hired him to do the interior as well. Again, I was very pleased with the results.

It was time for a new exterior paint job on our home where my wife and I live in El Granada. Although the house is small, it sits on a hillside, so access for painting can be tricky. I contacted three paint companies on Angie's List and got bids.
When Mike Bright of M Bright Painting came, he was confident that his crew could handle the job easily without scaffolding. I said we wanted three colors, had never painted a house before, and needed help in selecting the colors and where to place them to accent the windows, doors, roofline and trim to get a result we would like. Mike assured us that he would come back and do that for us as the scheduled date for our job got closer.
His bid, at $3170, came in lowest of the three, and his Angie’s List reviews were very good, so we decided to go with him. All this was during the rainy season, so M Bright Painting was doing their best to schedule their various jobs around the uncertainties of the weather. At the beginning of January it was our turn.
What We Liked Best
We are pleased with the final result. The house looks great.
The job went quickly, with most of it being completed in two days.
Jeff, the lead painter on the two-man crew that did the work, was pleasant, responsive, skilled and efficient – a pleasure to work with.
The final price, although higher than the original bid, still came in lower than the two other bids.
What Could Have Been Better
The biggest problem is that we did not get the help with color selection and design that we expected, and were left to decide on our own at the last minute. This was stressful.
We chose 3 colors from a Kelley-Moore color booklet that another contractor had left. Jeff painted on samples, and we didn’t like how they looked. We picked four additional colors, and Jeff came back over the weekend to paint those. They expected us to make up our minds over the weekend, so they could order the paint and get started on Monday.
When Mike finally showed up to discuss design with us, the job was well under way and we had mostly done the design ourselves. His input was more about getting the job done in a hurry than in winding up with a look that would be pleasing to us. I’m glad we pushed back and insisted on what we wanted.
Another issue is that the terms of the bid – which had boilerplate small print specifying one-coat-coverage for most of the house – was not discussed ahead of time with us. It would have been nice to to have the option of deciding ourselves on the trade-off between quality and cost on one-coat versus two-coat coverage. Our lack of understanding about that resulted in the $670 of unanticipated cost.
Our Recommendations
1. At the end of the day, these guys did a good, professional job at reasonable cost, and the painters were pleasant to work with. My recommendations if you want to use them:
2. When it comes to color and design, be prepared to determine this on your own, or get any needed advise from a third party.
3. Before agreeing to a contract, make sure you understand the trade-offs of cost and quality on one-coat vs. two-coat painting on the various parts of your house. Take charge of this and make the decision yourself.
4, Be prepared to closely inspect the work before you sign off on it. There were about a half dozen places on our house where touch-up work was required.

Mike's crew was always on time and completed the job promptly. This was a refreshing contrast to the previous painter who was cheaper, but who did negligible prep work and left the porch with uneven paint and coloring.

I did like them and would recommend them. They had pretty good attention to detail. Michael Bright himself is the guy who comes out to do the quote. Then he has a crew of guys that come and actually do the painting. I thought that Michael Bright was actually going to do some of the painting then it occurred to me that he was just quoting. But when one of the people who worked for him couldn't show up one day as something happened then Michael actually showed up and painted alongside his crew so that they could get it done on time. They were not the cheapest quote that I got. They were the most expensive quote, but I felt that they were reliable and honest and that they did a good job.

Mike and crew were easy to work with and very responsive to all requests. Entire job took four and a half days (including a Saturday). The only issue was near the end when we did a walk through and areas that needed touch up as well as trying to 'hurry the job' at the end. All in all - I got five proposals for this job and Bright Painting was the lowest bidder which is always suspect. I went with Bright Painting because of Angie's list and the ratings on Better Business Bureau. Glad I did and would recommend them for any house in the bay area.

They answered the phone right away and that's why I used them. They had decent prices and they did a good job. I had a good interaction with them. I would use them again.

Started several days earlier than first scheduled, completed job in three days. I did some minor retouch on skipped and skimped areas.

The painting crew showed up on time. Took the time to do a professional prep. of the houses which included extensive sanding and fixing of cracks. Primed all the wood surfaces. Covered all the brushes and other items around the houses from paint over spay. The crew was pleasant and easy to work with. Anything I asked of them they did. They finished in the time expected and cleaned up all their mess. Both units look Great!

I had gotten several bids for this paint job and his bid was competitive. I ended up going with him on the recommendation of others who knew of him. He was a very contentious worker, using two coats of primer on the entire house. There were three colors used and everything turned out to perfection. I would hire him again without hesitation.
