The team is fantastic. They're a family run business & I dealt with both David & his father, Robert.
We initially got quote from David and the price clocked in around the same neighborhood as the 4 other estimates we got. We decided to go with Idea for 2 reasons: 1) David replied to my emails promptly (even after 8pm) 2) they do a lot of concrete work so I trusted them to do our giant concrete demo properly (it was right up against the house & I didn't want some rookies messing up the house doing the demo).
We agreed to their estimate & sent in a 10% deposit. The work started about 2-3 weeks after that.
The team first demo'd & hauled out all our old concrete. That took about 3 days. Days 4-5 they built our new landing & stairs. Following that came the paver installation for the patio. Then irrigation & finally the actual lawn.
Communication was great throughout. They actually beat their time estimate by a couple days too which was great.
Their crew showed up every morning at 7:30 sharp to start the work. About every 2 days Robert would show up at 7:30 as well to get my feedback on the last couple days work and ask me any questions they might have.
All in all it went fantastic. I really got along with them well, we got a great price & their work is fantastic. I'd highly recommend them for any concrete or landscaping work.

We finally decided to upgrade a parking area in front of our house. After considering different options, we decided to go with pavers to match our driveway. We dealt with David Alfaro at Ideal Engineering and the overall experience was great. He came out, gave an estimate and was able to start work within a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, his first estimate was wrong but we figured it out and discussed everything before the work started. David also was helpful with understanding our city requirements, as we had to get a permit to get this work done. He did a nice job matching the pavers we had in our driveway. His crew did a nice job not only with the pavers but with the gutter as well. The whole area looks great. We noticed later on that some of the pavers were a bit high, they came back and fixed it right away. Overall, happy with the final result and quality of work.

Ideal Landscaping is not cheap. I don't mind that if the service matches
the cost. For starters, you should never install light weight drip
systems in areas of that are to be trimmed with lawn mowers or
weedeaters. We are repairing these almost on a weekly basis. For the
amount of $$$s we paid they should have installed heavier duty
sprinklers. But finally, the most unprofessional thing they did is when
they wrapped up the project they took all of our garden tools with
them. Giving them the benefit of the doubt we called them up and
politely asked for them back, thinking their workers just made a
mistake. Unbelievably after paying over $30,000 for this work they
fought us tooth and nail and so we finally just went to Home Depot and
bought another set. To say we are disappointed with their utter lack of
professionalism, is a gross understatement.
