If we could give Lance a A+++ rating we would. He and assistant, Bill, were the epitome of professionalism. Lance was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, communicative, punctual and, most importantly, honest. The quality of the work performed was excellent and his pricing was very reasonable. This is the second time I have used watters pool service and I will always use their service. He is professional and trustworthy. both times I have used them I have been out of town. he has performed the work and fixed any issues. and the fixes were always confirmed and he would send photos of issues and why they needed to be fixed. knowledgeable and helpful. I explained what I need to do and when to keep the pool in good shape during the summer and it has been a great summer with a sparkling pool thanks to waters pool service.

Lance is a true professional in every manner. He is what I call a "Pool Dr.". The previous pool service man that I had could not fix a leak at the heater. So, he cut all the plumbing pipes and disabled the heater and then quit. I called Lance and in one day he completely reassembled and provided new plumbing to the heater and got the pool running again. Not a single leak ! He also replaced a faulty thermometer that the previous pool guy installed to close to the heater, thus giving an incorrect temperature relay to heater.
After fixing the problem, I employed Lance and Bill to service my pool on a weekly basis. Everything works perfectly, the pool is crystal clear and they show up on time and if you have a problem they will call you and fix within usually one day.
I use my pool year round and swim 1 hour a day so it is very important to me to have the right pool temperature consistently for pool and hot tub and have great service.!!
I have had 3 pool service people prior to Lance. None of them could come even close to his knowledge , service and punctuality. he is very available and is extremely personable.
If you employ him I guarantee that you will be extremely happy ! His prices are fair for the service he provides and he always "goes beyond the call of duty."

I can't say enough good things about this company. When we made upgrades for environmental reasons, Lance sent all the paper work and information to get the rebates and offered to help if we need it. Also, our weekly pool service is consistently great. I have never had such responsive service with ANY company. I email or text and have a response, most often in minutes, but always within 24 hours and that includes weekends. In fact, I hope someday Lance will be able to differentiate the things that can wait until normal working hours from the things that need to be address right away for his own sanity (or his wife's) :)

We had just bought the house and were making numerous repairs. Lance was a real find: someone who arrived on time, put together a meaningful analytic proposal and delivered the goods on time. He's easy to work with and knows his stuff. I highly recommend him.

Lance is professional, reliable, and trustworthy. He is very knowledgeable about his work and helpful of you have questions about the pool or the equipment. He patiently spent time explaining our pool controls to us and even helped one evening when we couldn't get the hot tub turned on. We highly recommend Lance!

Lance and Bill have been servicing our pool since March of this year. We are so very pleased with both of them. Lance is always available by phone or email. He returns my calls or emails the same day. He is very low key about new equipment letting me try it out and giving me all the pertinent information. I feel confident and satisfied buying what he suggests.
Bill comes weekly to maintain our pool. He is pleasant, friendly and so capable. Our pool has not looked this good in a long time. This is the first summer we have not had algae of any kind. He does something to our tile that makes it shine. We no longer have that dull tile build up. Our pool looks beautiful!
I would highly recommend both these gentlemen and am so pleased to have them care for my pool.

I've used Watters Clean Pool Service & Repair before and would recommend them to anybody with a pool and within their service area! Even though it took him no more than 5 minutes to ascertain the situation and he refused to be reimbursed for his time & effort I still tipped him! Prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and resourceful....... What more could you want out of a pool guy?

Lance was the second person maintaining our pool. The first did it for only a couple of weeks. From the start, Lance started educating me re: pool maintenance. We have had discussions about pricing and we agreed on a fair deal. This is Watters' strength--he talks with his clients and he values their opinions. Of course keeping the pool sparkling clean is a must. Finding a person you can work with on a regular basis makes life so much easier.

Spectacular! Pool and patio cover repairs were made on advice of realtors as I was selling the house. The pool and the patio covers were old, dating from the late 1960"s. For perhaps 25 years they had not been properly cared for and so were in very poor shape by the time I was able to employ Lance Watters.
Removing the patio covers was outside the contract for pool repair and maintenance; however, realizing the challenge for someone no longer living in the Carlsbad area, Lance offered to take down the patio covers on the weekend. He and a partner did a fantastic job, right on the target estimate. After the covers were removed it was clear some repair where they had been attached to the house. Lance took care of the repairs and perfectly matched the color of the stucco.
The pool itself needed a new drain, a new light, removal of an old diving board. The pool stucco was stained from years of inadequate cleaning. Just replacing the drain was a challenge many would not have taken on, as the pool is deep -- over 6'.
Lance replace the light without needing to tear up the surrounding patio to do so, which saved considerably on labor costs. He donned a wet suit and tackled replacing the drain. He tore out the old diving board, repair the concrete under it, and carted off the board for disposal.
Lance's estimates for work and materials are very accurate. He is honest and professional about his estimates, he details the "unknowables" and lets you know the possible price range for them and what the determining factors will be. He makes every effort to provide repairs at the lowest cost.
I found the Watters Pool and Spa Service on Angie's List and this business is one of the best reasons I know for continuing a subscription to Angie's List. Lance answers every question -- even when he has to get back to you -- he collects the information and actually does get back to you. His professional opinion is knowledgeable and worth soliciting and taking. He responds to questions even weekends and after 5pm. He shows up for regular maintenance even when it is raining

This is one of those jobs where there were a lot of variables on each repair, however each repair went as planned and we were able to avoid most of the variable costs. .Lance Watters is "My Pool Guy." Absolutely responsive, honest and professional. I switched to his weekly service over a year ago.
Previous pool people were barely able to take care of my equipment, misled and lied about every promise. The old guy designed and built my pool/spa for the previous owner and is beautiful. It did not work well, he messed up with the filter cleaning and left the "cleanings" on my turf area.
I interview several pool experts and all of them tried to BS me (and I hardly know anything about pools.) Lance answered every question or told me he didn't know the answer, but would get me one. And has.
I am finding there are a plethora of energy savings equipment upgrades and Lance has helped me understand which will save more than they cost.
I can go into a lot of examples of Lance's above and beyond the call. We continue to enjoy his professionalism and weekly visits by his side-kick, Rango the Wonder Dog

We have been using Watters Clean Pool Service for several months now after finding him on Angie's list and the service has been routinely outstanding. We use him to service our "spool" (kind of large Spa). Lance is responsive to questions, even over weekends, does what he says and his bills have always been fair and reasonable. He is a just a true gentleman! I highly recommend him without reservations. He had hired a second person to help him share the work and his new hire has been just as excellent.

This is the best pool service I've had.
I've had several since moving into this house and gaining a pool. I tried and failed to do the maintenance myself. Once I wised up and got a "professional", I've suffered from every thing from not showing up to forgetting equipment in my yard and not turning the equipment back on. Even with services recommended by others!
I finally found Lance through Angie's List and he's been a blessing. He is here on time and on schedule, knows the equipment, and is wonderful to work with. An extra benefit I enjoy is he brings his dog Rango with him on his rounds. He and my dog quickly became play pals so once a week my pooch has play time with a friend as a bonus along with the pool service.
Lance has taken wonderful care of the pool, advises what is and isn't really needed, and will make an effort to find a way to provide the more expensive services like repairs at a lower cost if possible.
I highly recommend his service to anyone who needs it. Watters Pool Service is outstanding.

Lance, is a very reliable and professional person. He takes great pride in his work at all times and communicates excellently. This is the second time that I have used his service and will be calling him back if I need anything else done. He installed my a new filter system for me. He also did some "minor" plumbing of the filter at no charge. I have called Lance on numerous occasions with some "technical" questions regarding pool chemicals and he has always been more than helpful. He even stopped by my house to make sure everything was alright. He is the most reliable and honest pool man around!

Lance is a very dependable and efficient contractor. He runs his own business with complete honesty and integrity and makes sure that the customer is always updated with the information pertaining to his job.
