So here's what was listed in the deal:

2. -$39 for an attic inspection, plus an insulation and ventilation analysis
3. -Checking for air leaks
4. -Verifying quality of attic insulation R-values
5. -Analyzing heating and cooling loss
6. -Report with recommendations for corrections and repairs
7. -Includes $150 credit toward recommended improvements

John the salesman showed up, stuck his head in my attic opening, took pictures, and then sat down with me to tell me what services he could sell me. I got estimations on my r-value based on the age of my home and past knowledge of home maintenance. I received no analysis of heating cooling loss other than "hey this is an old home with old insulation if you buy our insulation we can improve your heating and cooling loss". I did not get a "check for air leaks" in any way. The $150 credit was only available if I agreed to purchasing services on the spot. 
Overall this was a poor purchase on my part, I ended up purchasing a similar service from a competitor and recieved a much better assessment as opposed to paying for a sales pitch. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone.

Installation of blown in cellulose (above old 1970's era insulation) went really well, but they did not do the fiberglass bats around the skylights even though it was in the contract.  I had to go up and take a picture of the bare knee-walls and have the foreman come out and look at it for that part to be done.  It took a second trip but it was completed.  The crawlspace up in the attic is less than 2 feet even in the roomiest spots, so it was a tough job, and the installer the first time thought that just extra blown in cellulose around the skylights was enough.
I do have access to a ranged IR laser thermometer and the temperature on the uninsulated kneewalls on a hot day before the bats were put on was 20 to 30 degrees higher than the rest of the ceiling so that past was essential to keep the house insulated.
I am happy with the final result, but it took longer than I expected for the total job to be done.

The introductory meeting was informative.  The sales representative was ready to schedule a date for installation during this meeting.  So things happened very quickly.  Two workers showed up on time and completed the work in less than two hours.  They worked well together and when I asked about the process, they were very patient in explaining what they would be doing.  I assumed their work was of high quality, in spite of my not being able to climb into the attic to check.  They cleaned up after completing the installation.  I was very pleased with the overall service provided.  Thank you.

good phone responce... workers arrived when planned..so far no receipt or notice that he took the Visa amount..will call visa today, otherwise great...the credit card thing bothered me.I don't like to give my card out with out seeing the work and I live 300 miles away. The tenant said it was ok...but again I have no receipt nor email regarding the payment..

We recently purchased a condo conversion which was originally built in the mid 1970's. While we love the condo, being in a lower unit, we were unhappy with the noise transmission from the unit above. After reviewing Angie's List and Yelp, I called Scott at USI. He spoke very knowlegebly about what would work for our situation and explained the pro's and con's of various options. He got my number and said an estimator would call for an appointment. John called, set up an appointment and arrived on time. He went through the process thoroughly and measured the condo and gave us an estimate that I was satisfied with. After the estimate, we called John with a change that we wanted to make. He adjusted the estimate appropriately and emailed me a copy of the work to be performed and the cost.
The workers showed up at 7:30 on Saturday morning and spent over two hours preparing the house for the job. They covered virtually every surface with plastic and were very careful to protect our belongings. We went well above and beyond what we expected. The two man team worked diligently all day drilling and filling our condo with insulation. It was obvious they were skilled in their job and very diligent about doing it properly. We were so impressed with the quality of the work that I called Scott on Monday and thanked him for a great job.
In short, USI did an extremely professional job for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

USI was able to provide us with a timely scheduled installation date and provided personnel and materials sufficient to complete the entire insulation installation in approx. 8 hours. They arrived with 2 crews at the agreed upon time, setup and finished both attic and underfloor installation within the promised time frame. USI personnel were respectful of our property and took great care to minimize the impact on our daily routine.

We were planning to replace our shingles and thought, since we had the roof off, it would be a good time to upgrade our insulation. USI gave us a very competitive bid to add insulation to the attic of our duplex to bring it up to current code . The bid we were offered for the insulation was less than that given by a roofer who does both roofing and insulation. We ultimately chose USI and they coordinated with our roofer to time the work which we had scheduled with the roofer to begin within 10 days. Unfortunately, it rained on the day the work was to begin and everything had to be postponed. The USI crew coordinated with our roofer to move the insulation date back one day. The roofers cut holes in the roof the night before so the insulators could start first thing in the morning. Halfway through the job, we were shown the back section of our attic (an addition to the original duplex, separated by a wall through the attic). I had told the estimator that I was not sure that that section needed to have insulation added, but the original bid included the work in case the workers thought it did. When they opened up the roof, the crew saw that there wasn't room for them to work and the insulation was as full as it could reasonably be without going in through the walls, etc. We decided to leave it as it was and the crew told me the invoice would be reduced by the amount of square footage that was not done, and it was. We were very pleased with the bid, the follow through, the ease with which the USI crew coordinated with our roofing crew to get the job done despite the rain delay, and the overall professionalism of the crew and the company and their willingness to work with us to get the job done. We would definitely hire them again. Recommended.

Went OK.

We have an older home which was never insulated. Over the years we have done additions and insulated, had some insulation blown in the attic, but, there were some areas left that needed insulation. With the very cold weather lately and at our ages now, we decided it was time to finish the job.
My husband went on-line and found USI and made a call. An appointment for estimate was made and John called to remind us, and arrived on time. He explained to us how the job would be done and about the different products they would use. We made our decision and dates were scheduled for the insulators to arrive.
They completed the attic, a small crawl space, and portions of two exterior lathe and plaster walls in one day. For this particular crawl space they needed to cut an opening through the wall. It was done neatly and is barely noticeable, it is finished so well.
The next day they arrived and proceded to insulate with batting and mesh under the major crawl space of the house.
The third day they completed another crawl space and insulated the hot water pipes.
Two days after completion, we definitely feel the difference in the day and night temperatures in the house. We are so satisfied with the results and especially the professional manner in which USI represented itself and the courteous and professional manner in which the men did the job. There was no mess, no equipment left on-site, no delays. We would definitely recommend USI to friends.

Got there masked off did there job, cleaned up and left.

USI was professional, quick, and reasonable. I live in a small 500 sq foot studio with no insulation or central heating. We had another person come out to look at our place and they told us the job was too small and that we should do the work ourselves. :(
When I called USI, I expected you would say the same since you worked for a much bigger company. I was so excited when John accepted the work at exactly the price I was hoping to pay and could afford. I really appreciated their team calling and asking me if I wanted them to come a day early. Not only did they come right away, they were very efficient and tidy. My husband and I went for a walk while the men insulated the roof, when we came back, the job was done! We could not believe how quickly and neatly they were.
As for the house, we bought an indoor thermometer and have noticed a huge improvement (just in time for the rainy season); our house used to be colder inside than outside!

Got a quote from Terry Hansilk and process went smoothly. He explained how they would install baffles at vents and cover up our bucket lights prior to blowing in the insulation. We like his bid the best so chose this company. The workers arrived on time and took care to tape up the floors and area around attic to minimize any mess. While in the attic, the workers informed me that one of my furance/AC duct connections had a 1/4" gap and that this might cause some dust/insulation to come out the register and that it should be taped. I was annoyed becuase the duct work was brand new just installed by another company one week ago. They didn't have foil tape, so I purchased some at the hardware store to remedy the situation. They also noticed that my bathroom fan was not hooked up correctly to the roof. Apparently the diamater of the fan duct is smaller than the roof duct, so it needs an adapter. I will have to fix this another time, but I'm just glad that they let me know about this problem. They finished in about 3 hours and let me climb up to inspect their work. Everything looked great!

ON time, done in good order and did what was needed

They were on time and on budget. They honored everthing that was agreed upon. I would not hesitate to recommend them in the future.

Everything has been great with this company. They are the best insulation company in the business. The quality of work is top notch. The crew was very professional and friendly. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I had a problem, some the matteral were coming down, and I call and they came in a couples to fix the problem. They were real careful during the installation.

The estimator showed up on time and completed his inspection of both homes in less than 20 minutes. Estimator left a lot of Green Fiber informational materials. Danny O'Connell faxed us the estimate that afternoon. Although he discussed adding additional insulation and the pros and cons of a "radiant barrier", he was not a pushy sales type and was a pleasure to deal with. The work crew arrived within 30 minutes of their stated arrival time. "Oscar" and his helper were courteous and easy to talk with. Both men made a concerted effort to protect the premises by placing carpet mask over the rug and draping the walls in the area they were working with plastic sheeting. Had we not observed the progress of the work we would not have been able to tell they were in the homes that day. We would use this company again as the prices were fair, the job was done promptly and correctly, and both the estimator and workmen had good attitudes and worked well with the customer.
