Suburban Propane - San Marcos

We'd been Suburban Propane customers since we bought our house in 1998. They were very quick and courteous when we signed up with them. As I recall, they delivered a tank of propane on a weekend at no extra charge. More recently, I began comparing prices for propane. I was shocked to find that I'd been paying about double the going rate. Where most providers were charging around $2/gallon, Suburban was charging around $4/gallon. What's more, they charge an exorbitant "pump-out" fee that exceeds the value of the propane in the tank, so you'll always lose money by ending your contract with them. Their web site mentions this fee, but does not say how much it is (http://www.suburbanpropane.com/support/fees_charges.html).
