I called to get an estimate, was happy with the quote based on other estimates, and scheduled the work. I noted to their scheduler over the phone that my address is xxx "Street" and not xxx "Drive" as indicated on the e-mailed contract. He thanked me for pointing it out. The day of the installation, as you can probably guess, the installers showed up at a location on the other side of LA. Not a huge deal, but aggravating, as I pointed out the discrepancy to them early on. While they ended up being over two hours late for the appointment, I was generally pleased with the work. The two guys who did the work were polite, efficient, and did a good job of clean-up. I was, however, glad I kept a close eye on their work as there were portions of the exterior wall that - according to them - "could not be insulated since that part of the wall was solid wood". Knowing my house, I knew this wasn't the case and asked them to drill more holes into the stucco. BINGO! There was a void back there that was then filled with insulation. Initially, I was concerned with all the holes in the stucco - 125, to be exact. This turned out to be a non-issue as the patching of the stucco was done very well. I still have to paint it, but their work will be totally hidden once that is done. Overall, I had a good experience with SGI and it seems to be easier to regulate the temperature of my house now. It's hard to tell whether the full R-38 value of insulation was blown consistently throughout the attic, but it will surely be better than what was up there before.

I was very happy with the work and the price. Their price was comparable to other companies. I would use them again in the future if necessary and would recommend them to others.

They were the only company that I could find that would supply cotton batting for insulation instead of fiberglass. Their estimator, Bruce, was very punctual and very patiently answered all my questions about insulation. However, when the day came to do the work, they called to say that the product hadn't arrived. I told them I couldn't afford to miss any more work, and they said they would look around and try to find another supplier. They were able to find another supplier and arrived about noon, but disappeared right away to go to lunch. Once they started, the job went quickly. They closed up the attic ladder and announced they were done and left quickly. They threw their masks in the street and left a water bottle jammed in the crook of my orange tree. When I went up in the attic I could see that they had just thrown the insulation on the floor and hadn't made sure there were no gaps in it. Also, they had just thrown the insulation over my electrical junction box, which had some uncapped wires sticking out of it, which seems unsafe to me. They should have cut the insulation or built a box around it. I called their office and received a call back the next day saying they would come out Saturday. A gentleman did come out and did a very nice job tucking the insulation into the gaps so no heat would come through to the house. I wish he had been there in the first place! Also, they supplied the insulation for our detached office. I did not use them for the insulation work because the attic is floored there, and they said they wouldn't pull the flooring up, even though it was just screwed in place. So I had to hire a contractor to do that. They left more than twice as much insulation as necessary and told my contractor he could have any leftovers. That doesn't seem right, since I had to pay for it. I should have been able to return the extra.

Excellent! Work began on time, was completed on time, and fully met our expectations. The work team was tidy and cleaned up very well. I was very happy with the job. Our initial contact for the estimate, Bruce, was eminently professional and responsive. He was on-time for our in-home appointment and delivered the estimate in his stated time frame. He advised us of County rebates that will end up covering part of the cost of the job.

Getting in touch with them was difficult at first but eventually got someone out for an estimate. Scheduling was not the best, need to work on communicating better about timing. Showed up at 5:30pm for my appointment. Overall very satisfied with the work done.

I wanted to add insulation to two west facing rooms that were getting too hot in the summer and very chilly in the winter. I found that most companies had a very high "minimum" because they said it was so much trouble to bring out a truck, blah, blah, blah, price gouge. SGI's minimum was $350 for three hours. They only took two hours and charged me $250 which was VERY kind of them. They were responsive and professional in every way and the insulation made a tremendous difference in in maintaining a comfortable temperature.

They showed up early which was a plus. They promised job would be done in 3 hours and they were actually done in 2 hours. They patched all holes as promised and textured over them.

SGI'S PRICING WAS FAIR. THEIR CUSTOMER RELATIONS WERE VERY POOR. SCHEDULING NEEDS DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT. I WAITED ALL DAY FOR AN APPOINTMENT AND NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. I HAD TO CALL AND FIND OUT THAT THEY WERE NO ABLE TO MAKE IT ON DAY SCHEDULED.
