Our services include the following branches: Pool Services Technologies, Inc. specializes in the recovery and recycling of existing swimming pool water, creating a safer bather experience and lower chemical demand, all while saving up to 85% of the existing water already in your swimming pool. The process (Puripool Process) is safe enough that you may continue using the pool during the treatment, with no down time, lack of use (particularly important for commercial and HOA pools) or worry about exposing the pool plaster to the air or the pool floating out of the ground. Our service is competitively priced with draining and refilling costs, while conserving a great majority of your existing water and providing a superior end product. Our water is much lower in solids than what you can purchase from the water company, resulting in lower chemical demand and a safer pool for you and your family and friends. Black Sand Pools (a division of Pool Services Technologies) believes that there are right ways and wrong ways to build a swimming pool, and we choose not to subscribe to the wrong way philosophy. We think you will agree that a wrong way pool is really not what you are interested in, and we find it hard to fathom why so many continue to build these types of swimming pools! We specialize in building pools that surpass not only building requirements, but your expectations as well. We focus on customers needs and desires, while never losing sight of building a pool that works flawlessly and provides you with years of enjoyment. Experience the difference of a builder who puts quality above all else, and your complete satisfaction at the forefront. "Thank you for allowing us to purify your existing pool water, [Member Name Removed], and for choosing not to waste it by draining the pool and refilling it instead. We appreciate the nice review and the opportunity to have worked for you. Enjoy your new pool water and have a great summer!"
Well done
In addition I want to mention that we were home hunting for a home with a pool and or a lot big enough to have one installed. We were very interested in a home and close to making a final offer. The home did not have a pool but with the price we were at we thought we could budget for a pool. I must of called five places and could not find a person to meet me at the house to confirm what we budgeted for a pool was practical . I finally called Pool Services Technologies, Inc. and Bruce called me back. He agreed to make time for me and after reviewing the lot we came to a conclusion that it was not practical to install a pool on such a slopped lot for what I had budgeted. Bruce sabed me a lot of headaches
If your thinking of building a pool or need repairs these are the folks to call
"Thank you, [member name removed]! We are happy that we were able to help you, and for making a new friend in the process! Please let us know if we can answer any questions or be of any additional help in the future."
I spoke to several resources early to determine what we could do and reverse osmosis service was described as the best option when/if needed. With RO, there is no need to complete empty and refill a which is good as most pools have the local water table pushing up on them. Pools need the weight of the water in them to keep from moving or being damaged. Yes, hydrostatic valves help also to reduce the risk when completely emptying....but they don't always work. Furthermore, water in San Diego is relatively expensive and it would be a major waste to just dump it out.
Still, RO service isn't cheap and there isn't much competition to drive down pricing...Pool Services Tech is the only company I know of that does it in San Diego.
I've spoken and emailed Bruce many times and he advised me to wait till the calcium levels reached at least 500. I've also heard of some pool owners being able to survive CH levels up to 1000. Our pool reached 500 in February and I'd rather have the work done before the start of the swimming season.
It took about 2 weeks to schedule and get the RO service out to our home. Bruce showed up a few hours late, but I was OK with that. The truck and process is very well done and Bruce has obviously put a lot of thought in optimizing it all. There are 4 hoses, two to bring water back and from the pool, and the other two to get rid of any mineral/grime build up in the filter (especially salt) and to provide tap water to replace any water lost.
The truck ran for about 17 hours all afternoon and overnight, finishing at about 7am. During this period, at least 5K gallons of tap water was used and the pool water dropped 4-5 inches. We had the pump completely off.
Our pool chem levels were markedly different when the process finished. CH was down to ~100, and TA was cut in half. Salt was reduced from 3400 to 800 and PH went from 7.4 to 6.8.
The new water was as advertised.
However, the chem levels were not safe for prolonged use in the pool. I spent most of the morning and some of the afternoon replacing the good chemicals that had been lost and getting the CSI (calcium saturation index) to something that was no longer a threat to the plaster. It's been almost a week and the CSI is still not back in a perfectly safe range, but it is close enough now that I'm no longer worried.
Our current CH level is ~130 and we may be able to go through two seasons before having to have the service performed again.
"Thank you, Member. I really enjoyed talking with you and seeing your level of knowledge regarding your water chemistry; you are definitely not the norm as far as pool owners go! Please continue to watch your CSI and let me know if you need me back out to raise the calcium level. I'd really like to see you go a good couple of years before needing us again! Thank you again for the kind words; it was our pleasure to work for you!"
The only drawback is that it is indeed more expensive than draining/refilling your pool, but you're getting a better end product and way less hassle.
"It was our pleasure to work for you, Thomas! Thank you for the kind words, and please let us know if there is anything we can help you with in the future regarding your swimming pool!"
