They were fine.

It was great. I actually called them again to do some more work but they couldn't do until spring because they were so busy. They did a lot of work.

Steve was awesome from start to finish. Made great suggestions and was always receptive to our ideas. If we ever do any more landscaping, we will use them again for sure. Great experience!!

It was a pleasure to work with this company. Even though the job was a small backyard, we felt that the personalized attention we received from Steve was beyond our expectations. He guided the project from start to finish, providing us with a schematic design, expertise on plants and a crew that did an outstanding job. They were there every day on time and did truly exemplary work. Our neighbors have already requested their information.

Outstanding job.  Steve and Mike and their entire team were a complete pleasure to work with. We got multiple bids, theirs was mid-range. Installed approx 425 sq ft of turf in our back yard.  Had great ideas, answered all my questions including ones I didn't know I had. Only company that we got an estimate from that discussed the possibility of south facing windows melting the turf. Left pieces of turf to move around our back yard to ensure there were no areas of reflection from the windows that might melt the turf. Reimagined and installed all of our exterior lighting.  Had fabulous ideas and did outstanding work.  A year later we still couldn't be happier with the work done.  Some of the best money we ever spent on our home. Note- yes, they can sometimes be tough to get ahold of, and you may have to schedule a little further out because they are great at what they do and therefore quite busy.  I think sometimes that can be a sign of a great contractor.  I refer them to everyone I know that needs exterior work done.

WELL.....END RESULT WAS GREAT.  STEVE DID EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD DO.
I WOULD USE HIM AGAIN.

They were fantastic! They did a great job making suggestions as to how everything should be designed  and accomodated all of our wishes and desires. Their crew worked very hard and everyone was very professional. The only slight negative was that it was obvious they were swamped with work so sometimes the owners weren't around or responsive. Their crew was always on site; but couldn't necessarily make decisions without them. But that's a small issue. Overall, we were really pleased with them for the work they did for us in 2013.
PS Recently, in 2015, we referred our inlaws to them. According to our inlaws, they never returned their call. Still swamped perhaps?

It took us a long time to get a mutually agreeable time for the workers to begin the work. They were working on a very large expensive project and had weather issues, etc.  Once they were able to begin work, they worked very swiftly and efficiently. They arrived each morning about 8:30 and were gone when I arrived home from work. I could see great progress day to day. It was wonderful to not only see the changes but also the workers cleaned up the work area every day! Debris and mess was kept to a minimum.

I am very pleased with the final product. It has improved the appearance of the backyard100%.  I really do love it.

The only negatives that I can say are 1.) the plan layout was not followed exactly. I feel there are fewer plants but the work came in under budget. That may be the reason; 2. It took me several attempts to understand the invoice.

 Two plants are dying - but I have every reason to believe they can, and will be, replaced by Panjia.

I got five bids before we started and Steve Young's bid was on the high side but he was so personable and friendly that we went with him. The good reviews on Angie's list also reinforced my decision. I have absolutely no regrets as it turned out to be a very pleasant experience and his crews were excellent. They worked hard and cared about how it looked-they were very conscientious. Steve came by each day to supervise and answer any questions I had. We have had other licensed landscapers work on our yard and Panjia Outdoors is by far the best we have used and I wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future. One of the reviewers said that Steve was the best contractor he had ever worked with (and he had worked with many contractors) and I concur. From beginning to end the project went well and Steve was willing to check all the drainage and ran the sprinkler system to make sure all was in working order. We are very happy with the look of the turf (invisible seams) and the fact that our water bill was 30% less as compared to last year. They also did a very good job laying the pavers and spent a lot of time leveling and preparing the surface before laying the pavers.

We were getting ready to sell our house and they were absolutely outstanding. They were a wonderful company to work with. Every one of their employees were outstanding. We would absolutely use them again.

The whole project, from quoting to completion, went very smoothly. The entire crew was easy to work with and diligent.

The demo and excavation started on Nov. 21, 2013. I came home on that day to find that the workers had taken out the three hedges on the property which I did not want taken out. After getting over my grief, I was relieved that Steve Young offered to replace those hedges. Well, that wasn't so bad since the hedges were overgrown and new plants would go with the new landscaping. I googled and found excellent replacements such as japanese boxwood and golden vicary privets which he incorporated in the plant list. There was so much plant, dirt and concrete taken out of the property that it they used three of those long wide excavation containers to dispose of material from the front and backyard. The paver installation was noisy and dusty which was not unexpected. But Juan and the guys were true craftsmen and the attention to detail was evident. Both Steve and Mike Young came by to supervise the crew and they also had Pepe as the site foreman. Steve and Mike spoke Spanish and there was good communication as well as lively banter with the crew during the entire project. The day the turf, artificial grass and all the plants showed up I thought that we may have purchased too many (plants). But Steve took the time to stage it and space it properly in anticipation of full growth. The golf ball pittosporums they planted around the tree was such an attractive plant that I wondered why I even questioned it! Steve and his crew stuck with the design and asked if they can deviate from it when they had to. I really appreciate that! They were wonderful to work with and the result is that I have the best landscape on my street. And I found them on Angie's List!

It went just fine. They just did a good job. They were very reliable and did what they said they were going to for the price I paid.

This project was a pleasure from start to finish. It began with a 3-hour meeting with brothers Steve and Mike Young, the owners of Panjia, Inc. They were extremely thorough in finding out what we wanted, and exploring various ideas that could meet our needs. After a follow-up meeting, we were anxious to get a design and price that we could compare to the 6 other bids that we had obtained. Panjia's design was the best by far, using a great deal of imagination, and very artistically minimizing the amount of straight lines in the entire project. In addition, their price was the best value of all the other bids. We were thrilled that we found them, thru Angie's List, and we signed a contract for our project.
Our decision to use Panjia was positively reinforced during virtually every day of the project. The owners were very attentive, and there were very few days in our 6-week duration that at least one of them did not visit our job site. Our foreman, Pepe, was very polite and accommodating, and is a true craftsman when it comes to all of the areas included in our job. The rest of the crew were also polite and attentive, and worked very hard to complete our project on schedule. Both the owners and the crew members were very flexible when it came to accommodating our desires to add or change things during the project, and the owners were very reasonable when it came to pricing those changes. As I write this review, it has been 2 weeks since the project was completed, and I actually miss having Pepe and the crew around, as well as the almost daily visits from Steve and Mike.
We now have a spectacular back yard in place of one that was 27 years old and worn out, and we could not be happier with the results provided by Panjia, as well as the journey to achieve those results. Panjia is, without a doubt, the finest company that we have ever utilized for anything that involves "service" and "results", and we will definitely use them again in the near future to make our front yard look as good as the back yard. The summary version is: Panjia is an incredible company, and we recommend them in the strongest possible manner!

Everything went very smoothly. The person that oversaw the work reported that the 2-man crew worked very hard throughout the job and were very  professional.

Our new home had a very neglected landscape. It needed a total overhaul. We were so lucky to call in the Coast Guard of all landscape saving, Panjia! Steve and his brother work together with an "A" Team crew. The guys all have such an amazing work ethic. They were dredging and digging on the hottest heat wave days and getting the job done in the fattest time ever! The crew of workers are really outstanding and polite men. We needed a privacy screen first and foremost. They came out and constructed a raised stucco bamboo planting container and created this amazing tropical zen garden. They also completely replaced antiquated sprinklers with water efficient models. They installed beautiful river rocks for more detail. I am grateful for the entire team's dedication to making your job truly feel like it is not a number but a priority. Steve was extremely helpful because he always is knowledgeable and quickly responded to our calls. This is a high end service providing excellent customer service and quality work. We are beyond happy with Panjia and will definitely use them in the future. They are the people that you are grateful to have working at your home. They are all very respectful and always left things looking amazing. They also have the technical expertise to address issues from your home inspection and we are grateful that they were also affordable as we could never have fixed so many things and taken care of so many issues without their fair pricing for superior work. I like that they take pride in their work and listen to what your vision is and make recommendations that work for you. I also thought they were great about researching the best shrubs for those with allergies or who want water friendly varieties. They also know what works with your soil and area. They source from reputable nurseries who guarantee their products.

Their expertise seemed to be primarily hardscape which was done pretty well. They did not seem well equipped nor skilled in general maintenance.

First off, we knew that this was going to be a semi large job and we needed someone who knew their pavers (since that was the majority of the job).  We got estimates and consultations from the top 5-6 Angie's List pavers/landscaping specialists and decided to go with Panjia because of cost and their obvious extensive knowledge of pavers.  Most other consultations you could tell the representative didn't know pavers the way Mike and Steve does as they actually worked on it (and Mike still does) themselves.  That aside, Mike and Steve came to our home many times by now and they are always a pleasure to talk to both professionally and personally.  The job was pretty much on schedule minus a couple hiccups as with all major contracting jobs but Steve and Mike showed me that Panjiya is truly a class act and stuck with their estimate equitably only asking me for more expenses when necessary.  I really appreciate that part about Steve and Mike as they won't nickel and dime you like a lot of other contractors.  Their crew with Pepe is unbelievable....we had the privilege of watching them work on some of the days we stayed home and saw them  lay the pavers and cut the border trims.....that's not something you learn overnight, obviously years and years of experience.  They were also very friendly and courteous to us and tried very hard to stay out of our way during their work while we were busy moving in......very kind to our kids too that were curious about their work.
The main aspects were done perfectly, aka the pavers and the firepit.  We did have some small issues that cropped up with irrigation, plants, lighting, and the fire pit flame output but Steve and Mike always made sure to take time out of their busy schedules to come back to us to take care of the issues.  These guys are extremely busy ALL the time (for good reason too if you see their work) but they do make sure you are taken cared of and do what they say.  I just feel that there aren't many companies out there that would go above and beyond the job anymore these days and when you have someone like Steve/Mike/Pepe/and the crew....you'd be silly to go elsewhere if you can wait for their schedule to open up.  Thanks Panjiya, we'll forever be your customers should any other needs come in the future for landscaping.  Steve/Mike, when you guys ever have time, we're always up for drinks in our spectacular yard you guys help us build.  Thanks again!

Steve, Mike, and their crew are all very friendly and hard working. They put in long hours and even worked on Saturday to complete the job. They  went above and beyond the call to remedy unexpected problems that came up, i.e. replacing a rusty  pipe with a hole in it, replacing worn out sprinkler valves, and helping to  install the fountain.

Panjia is amazing.  We could not be happier with our new backyard!  
Steve and Mike came out for our consultation and brought tons of photos/examples for us to see.  They offered opinions when asked, but never seemed to push in any one direction.  Their personalities were just a good fit with ours and they understood and listened to our vision.  The bid came back within a day or two and was competitive with the other three bids we had.  We decided to go with Panjia based on other Angie's List reviews, the price, and the general feel we got from Steve and Mike.
They were able to assist with obtaining our HOA approval by providing plans for us to submit and started work within about 10 days from our approval.
When I was being flaky about choosing the paver color, Steve offered to meet us at the supply store to help us make a selection.  Talk about patience and customer service!  
The approx two week project went smoothly....the guys were all polite and very hard working.  Steve was great about checking in with us to make sure we were happy with the process.  The initial quote was what we ended up paying for...no last minute add ons.  I don't think I would change a thing!

Everything went well. They took as much time as needed to complete the job. Cleaned everything up when the work was completed. Came back to tweek what needed to be tweeked. Were professional and  responsive throughout. Left a beautiful new yard for my family to enjoy.
