Property Appraisal
We had three appraisals performed on our home within a two month timeframe because our loan amount was jumbo. Marston was the third and last appraisal. Our first two were were performed in extreme detail and took several hours. The appraisal amounts for the first two came within a few thousand dollars of each other. Then we had Marston to the house. The appraiser spent one hour and the appraised amount was below the others by a very significant amount. His report and backup were a fraction of the work of the other appraisals. The appraisal was then reviewed and approved by a supervisor located in another state and not even in our real estate market. The bank hired Marston but as homeowners we would not hire again. Fortunately, we got the loan approved because of the multiple appraisals.
