I had approximately 60 feet of 5 foot tall old cedar fence I needed hauled away. When they arrived, I started to assist and was told I didn't need to help and they would take care of it all. They picked up everything. This saved me from renting or borrowing a truck and paying Landfill fees.

Look at his ad on Angie's List. His address is listed in San Marcos, very near our house. This turns out to be a lie. He is in Encinitas--used to be in San Marcos, but deliberately leaves the wrong info.
Called his number; he answered, indicated he was busy and returned my call quickly.
I indicated there was a lot of debris including a big pile of lumber that needed to be removed immediately, as soon as possible and asked if he could accommodate this requirement.
We discussed what there was to haul, he asked me to send him pictures of it to his cell phone. I sent several pictures showing different views of the lumber pile, the debris pile, and pictures of the stuff in the garage to be removed also.
Didn't hear back from him.
Called him again; he had received the pictures, he could come first thing in the morning, ~ 7 a.m., Cost $200.00.
We agreed to proceed.
He showed up exactly on time.
I had pulled the stuff out of the garage to save him some time/effort.
Looked over the stuff. Said $200 wasn't enought, mentioned a considerably higher price. I asked my son to come out and talk with him.
They finally agreed on $350 (we had to get it done that day). It would be 2 trips to the dump. OK...almost double the estimate!!!! Eventually he said he had never said $200, even though he acknowledged it at the beginning.
He did an excellent job removing the lumber and debris into his truck.
When he had the first load ready to go, he said he didn't have money to pay the dump fees, would we please pay him now so he could cash the check. Sigh.
Asked him for an invoice, which he provided, with his business card...this was when he mentioned that he leaves the San Marcos address on the Angie's List website.
OK, gave him the check for $350, hoping he would come back.
Good news, he did.
After he had the second load in his truck ready to go, he asked to be paid. I said...you've already been paid, remember? gave you a check for the full $350.00.
He said that was for the first load, and demanded another $175.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(My son exclaimed "he's a thief!" when I told him).
He went on and on about how he has bills, has to pay taxes, he and his wife....yadayada......when we didn't budge, he said, no problem he would unload his truck and put it all back if we don't pay him.
Ended up paid him since we truly had to have the stuff out then and there. Extortion!
He left without giving a receipt for the second check.
Yes, we should have gotten it in writing to begin with and not paid in full halfway--extremely foolish on my part (really! never had such an bad experience with an agreement made and executed within a few hours...quite a lesson!)
The fellow did a superb job at clearing out the debris. He was punctual. Neat and clean. I wouldn't include "honorable"!
