"We are very happy to hear you were pleased with the salesperson and installers, but disappointed that your total experience was not completely satisfactory. Since this installation was 10 months ago, it is difficult to investigate the particulars of this specific job. Some preparation cannot be foreseen until old flooring is removed as we specify in our “Get Ready for your Install” letter that is given out with every installation. The grinding would have been discovered after the carpet was pulled up. Painting is also not something that we do. We are sorry this understanding was not made clear. Regarding a rental house. Contacted store to have estimate and probably have them do the work as tenant had dealt with them before and recommended them. Took over a week to have a call returned, left 3 messages for salesperson and he was mostly off, not working that day. Then when I did speak to him he said he would get measurement done and send me an estimate. Waited another week and nothing was ever done, he never called tenant to schedule appointment. I called AGAIN and asked to speak to manager, Jeremy and asked why they didn't want my business. Had to explain the lack of interest and professionalism on the part of his salesperson.
He said he would look into it and get it taken care of. He asked if I had already given a $95. 00 deposit for measuring. I was never asked for that and got angry again as apparently his salesperson doesn't know how to do his job. He waived the deposit and said he would get back to me. I told him I didn't want to deal with that particular person again, but guess who called me back? Yes, the absent salesperson. Finally, we were ready to do the install and he set this up with my tenant. The day came and no one showed up! Tenant called store and found he didn't schedule the job! He also raised a stink because this was the second day he had to take off work and didn't appreciate it. Well, the store was able to find some installers but because the job wasn't scheduled they didn't have the correct padding in stock so had to upgrad the padding at no additional cost to me. Yeah, right!"Member, I am very sorry about your experience that you recently had with Coles. It is our every intention to provide all of our customers with the highest quality service. I believe this particular circumstance was a bit more challenging because it involved so many parties. When you asked to not speak with your current salesperson, that info was relayed. However, he was contacted by your tenant, and wanted to try to help them. We did also make a scheduling error on the day of the installation. We discovered the error and had an installer out there on the same day. Yes, Coles did upgrade the pad at no additional charge due to the mistakes that had been made. We felt that was the right thing do to make up for the errors. I am happy that the tenant was satisfied with the installation, and apologize for the confusion ahead of time. These issues will be addressed with our staff as we expect the highest level of service to all our customers. I would also like to extend a free carpet cleaning kit to your tenants. Just have them come by the store and see me (Jeremy), and I will provide one for them. We hope to see you again soon for your next project, and will strive to give the service that has made Coles San Diego's floor covering leader of choice since 1947."
"Upon completion of this job the customer was contacted to make sure that the installation had gone smoothly. Our company was told by the customer that the job turned out great and everything was fine. Coles works hard to guarantee that our customers will be satisfied with their purchase and will do everything possible to ensure a job well done. Our customers know that if there is every any issue with their Coles purchase, they can contact our customer service department and we will take care of any problems. Had we been contacted concerning this issue, we would have promptly responded and alleviated the situation."
