We ordered a very nice, expensive recliner from Bassett.  Everything is custom made, you pick out the fabric you want.  This recliner was made just like the floor model, it came in 2 colors of the same fabric.  The "great price" was because even though it is "custom made" for you, this chair in this fabric was like it was not a special order.  I am sure they sold a lot of them in this exact chair and fabric.  Now it is only available like this in leather.  I believe they found out this fabric did not work, it started to ball up and fray.  I called and they sent out a service team, they wanted to use a fuzz remover thing like you use on a sweater that has balled up, but they could not find it on the truck.  So they wanted to come back later.  I was worried that would further weaken the fabric.  I said I wanted to return it.  They acted like they did not want to take it back until I reminded them I bought the insurance.  They did take it back, but would not give me my money back.  I had to pick out another piece to replace it.  They did not have much to choose from, so I ordered a much less exciting recliner.  It is not a wall hugger, not electric up and down, big and clunky.  It even cost $50 more for less of a chair!!!   I have had to reorganize my whole front room to fit it in and it does not look good.  But too bad, that was my only option.

I did not need any other type of furniture, we needed a recliner for my husband and he does not like it.  Stay away from Bassett!

Everything went better than expected.  The sales person, Michelle was very helpful in explaining the process.  We were told it would take 4 to 6 weeks to have the furniture made and shipped to the store. It actually took less than 4 weeks. We were called 15 minutes prior to arrival of the truck. The furniture arrived in new, undamaged condition. Billy and his assistant were polite, considerate, and very efficient. They set up everything exactly as we asked. I was completely impressed.  We have seen less than good quality product from another store that sells a lot of furniture, and we sent it back.  This furniture costs about twice as much, but the quality is so much better.

I like that Basset has many different options for upholstery. We purchased from Basset because our old sofa was a Basset and it lasted about 18 years. It probably could have been reupholstered and lasted another 10+ years. The sales staff was very helpful but not pushy. Our sofa was ready in less then four weeks which was sooner then we expected. We discovered a defect in one of the seams of one of the seat cushions and took it in to be repaired. They determined that it would be better to replace the cushion since there was not enough fabric to repair the seam. They told us to keep the damaged cushion while they ordered a new one. It took about 6 weeks for the new cushion to be made, longer then the couch itself. We did get our new cushion and we have the damaged one as well.

Great. We had been looking for occasional/arm/parlor chairs for this one room we have that was empty, and finally found the chair my husband and I could agree on. We picked out the fabric, style, wood finish, etc., and were pleased with the final product.
