I had some commercial work (installing a LAN) done by Thoma Electric many years ago, which is why I thought of them when I needed work done on my home. John manages the residential jobs, from quoting to scheduling electricians. He arrived promptly on time for the original walk-through to determine price. He answered questions, offered suggestions, and seemed to have a thorough grasp on what I wanted done.
He quoted 4 days work; the electricians showed up on time, with all material needed to do the job. They were professional, courteous, and tidy. The job required work in the attic, running new cable, plus outside as well as inside work. I am very pleased with the results!  John quoted parts and labor, with a not-to-exceed final amount, which I felt was reasonable for the work being done. I was surprised (and happy) to see that the final bill was much lower than the not-to-exceed figure originally quoted.
I was pleased with their commercial work many years ago and I am delighted with the work done on my home. I will definitely use Thoma for future projects.

The electrician arrived on time, and was very professional in appearance and manner.  After he took care of the obvious flaws pointed out by the home inspector, he went over my list of items to check.  In the case of the 3-way switch in the laundry room, he found it was wired in such a way that the ground wiring was hot!!  He removed the ceiling fixture, and discovered it was not only done incorrectly, it posed a definite fire hazard.  Even though this was something that had to be corrected, he called me in, showed me the problem, and explained how and why it had to be fixed so I'd know about what it was going to cost.  Other items on my list were cosmetic issues rather than safety issues, and he asked me before he did each one, giving me an estimate of the time it would take if I wanted him to do them.

Before the electrician left, he gave me a shopping list for some items I wanted to replace (ceiling fan, smoke arms, CO alarm, lighting fixtures etc.) so that I'd know what the existing wiring/boxes could support - particularly helpful to me in regard to what the box for the ceiling fan could support.  As soon as I find the fan and fixtures, I'll have Thoma back to install them.

The electrician arrived at 7:30 AM and left at 3:00 PM - never took a break, didn't spend any time on his cell phone - he worked!
