I hired the moving experience to move me and they dropped over 5000.00 worth of my stuff in another state, found some of it and we have never seen nor been compensated for any of it. We have over 12,000.00 in damages from our move 8 months ago and have never seen a penny. The owner, Aaron is a coward and has never spoken to me since our move. Total scam. They don?t protect your furniture at all, no pads etc. It literally looks like they threw my belongings in a truck. Stay away from them. We requested insurance over a month before our move and they never provided it leaving us with state minimum .60 a pound which insurance adjuster valued at a claim of 750.00 which they did not even offer that!! Off to court we go. These people are scam artist just out to collect your money and destroy your belongings. STAY AWAY FROM AARON AND HIS COMPANY TVE MOVING EXPERIENCE

I don't even know where to begin! We moved from Cambria, CA to Oak Ridge, NC and while looking at moving companies I found The Moving Experience in SLO had some great reviews. I had them come out and give me a "not to exceed" quote and it was reasonable at about 24,000 after Jason came to my house and inventoried all our belongings. I explained to Jason that we always take up a whole 60 foot truck to ourselves as we not only have a lot of stuff but its big stuff. Moving day finally arrived and they arrived about 830 AM. I have moved many times in the past and I know that they usually arrive in the morning and by about 3 or 4 in the afternoon they are on their way and we are cleaning an empty house. Not in this case. At about 1030 at night I had the driver find me and tell me that he needs me to sign a change order. I asked him what he meant he said that we were at the cubic feet that had been calculated and it was going to cost me more than the agreed upon price. I said "no, I have a not to exceed quote". and I was then told that that is correct but the "not to exceed quote" was for a maximum cubic foot. I told him I wanted to talk to Jason the Salesman or Aaron the owner. Keep in mind it 10 or 1030 at night and I have non refundable hotel reservations 3 hours away. They can't get a hold of anyone so I tell them I will sign what they want as I still have a ton of stuff that needs to be loaded, its late and we just want to get out of there. They finally finish loading at about 1230 AM. That's 16 hours for 4 or 5 guys to load a 2000 square foot house!!! We are finally on the way and all is good. I had noticed while they were packing that they did not use 1 furniture pad. I had to keep telling the loaders that they could not put my leather sofa and white linen sofa on a truck with no wrap. I rrepeadidly told them that things need to be wrapped etc. I made it to New Mexico when I got a call from the driver. He asked me when I was expecting them to arrive in Oak Ridge as he had two other stops to make, one in Louisiana and one in Florida. I told him that we were pretty laid back and anytime between Sunday and Tuesday would be fine. He asked when my movers planed on coming to unload. I said excuse me? I said I hired you guys to load and unload my truck. He told me that his experience people would hire a company on the other end to unload but what does he know, he is "just a driver". I called Jason and we shared some four letter words that I am not proud of but Im in the middle of New Mexico and just told that I need a crew to unload a 60 foot truck. Long story short they agreed to pay to have a company come and unload which by the way was in my contract! The movers cam and they could not believe what they saw. They had NEVER seen a truck packed the way this truck was packed! They started unloading the truck and I just sat there taking pictures of broken chairs, oil stains on white linen couches, broken fire pits, broken patio heater, chips out of expensive wood furniture, broken ice maker etc etc etc. They finally got everything in and talking the entire two days of unloading how poorly it was packed and no padding or protection on almost anything. I then went to grab my dolly and it was missing. I called the driver and he told me that when the truck was done loading at my house it went back to the shop and Nicole and Christian saw how bad the truck was packed so they repacked the entire truck. Then we found that we were missing two very expensive pieces of art that were packed ( by them) in one box. It was just not here. So now I have a furniture dolly and two pieces of fine art missing all together. I asked for them to call the two stops they made before mine and ask them if they had our stuff and they would not. I had asked for insurance several days b...

Title: Beware of This Unscrupulous Moving Company! I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with The Moving Experience, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal. If you are considering their services, think twice--this company epitomizes unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and outright scam tactics. 1. Deceptive Quotes: Initially, we were quoted a not to exceed $2700 for our local same day move. Seemed reasonable, right? Wrong! On moving day, the movers loaded our all our belongings onto the truck and then dropped the bombshell: Pay up more or we will not finish the job! The Movers, instigated by our Move Design Extraordinaire Ashely, coerced us into signing a change order, effectively holding our possessions hostage. After taking a long lunch, our 5 person crew turned into 3 person! 2. Unauthorized Charges: Brace yourself for this one. Not only did they extract the initial agreed payment (which we reluctantly paid), but two weeks later they sneakily charged the additional $2000 (the change order!!) to our credit card--without our consent! Talk about daylight robbery. 3. Radio Silence: We tried reaching out to The Moving Experience multiple times. Calls? Voicemails? Emails? Crickets. It's like they vanished into thin air. No response, no accountability. Our frustration skyrocketed. Ashley, Natalie and the owner Aaron. 4. Damaged Goods: Oh, and lets not forget the piece de resistance: our movers used electric drills and stripped every screw and bolt taking apart our furniture and shelves. They broke our lamps and crushed boxes that were clearly labeled FRAGILE. Apparently, careful handling; means smash everything. Bravo, The Moving Experience, bravo. In summary, The Moving Experience excels at overcharging, underdelivering, and ghosting customers. Their business model seems to be: Quote low, charge high, break stuff, and vanish. If you value your sanity (and your belongings), steer clear of this nightmare on wheels. We feel scammed. Stay away from these movers.

If you decide to use the moving experience, I'm going to offer you a huge piece of advice that potentially could save you hundreds of dollars... Once you pay your deposit, make sure to cancel your credit card before the actual move date because if you don't, this company will highly likely find a way to charge your card way over the original estimate without explaining or showing you why. I speak from experience... In the middle of my recent move on June 21st, the foreman had me sign a change order on his phone because I had them move a few more things from the original estimate. I questioned the contents of the change order and if this was an extra charge and he assured me it wasn't unless the move took longer than the original 5 hour estimate (which it didn't). Since the original estimate was based on $180 per hour rate, not the size of the inventory, his explanation was acceptable, so I signed. BIG MISTAKE. Three days after the move, since I hadn't received an email invoice or heard from the company, I decided to check my credit card online and found out that very shortly after the 5 hour move was completed, my card was ultimately charged $1857 which far exceeded the original $900 five hour estimate. As of this writing, despite multiple requests to show me the basis of the drastic up-charge, they've provided no documentation and no reasoning whatsoever. In fact, administration along with accounting are refusing to return my calls, texts and emails. I want to be clear that I'm not advocating for anyone to not pay for services rendered. However, based on other reviews, the moving experience has done this before and a safeguard needs to be in place. This unethical, hidden business practice can easily be avoided by paying your deposit to reserve the day & time of your move, then cancelling your card or have your credit card company disallow/block all charges from them until you approve the amount owed. This will allow fair transparency and subsequent just payment to a company that believes in neither.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!DO NOT HIRE! Just like all of the other poor reviews, they also charged my mom $12,000 to move out of state with no one to unload upon arrival. The contract she signed stated and she was charged for 7 movers. There were only 4 to load her stuff. One driver showed up to drop off her stuff a day late. Jason Bice is a CON ARTIST and we were told he makes a commission off the bids he does. He will lie straight to your face to get your credit card number. We had to call everyone we knew to help unload my mom's stuff at 7pm. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Amazing! We've used other moving companies before and had awful experiences. I was just looking for a company that could do an affordable job, however they exceeded all of my expectations. The movers are professional, efficient and top tier! They packaged everything very securely, making us feel comfortable handling our electronics over to them for sage keeping for our long journey move.

Shameless price gouging- will move you out of state but then refuse to unload you once your things arrive at their destination. I was never told about this clause in our initial agreement. What moving company doesnâ t unload your things upon arrival???? Then - they didnâ t show up at the agreed-upon time TWICE so the laborers I had to hire to help unload had to be cancelled TWICE. The third time, once they finally delivered my things, I couldnâ t get the laborers there right when the truck arrived so they price gouged me for making their driver wait. $600 in advance for three hours - wouldnâ t open the door to my things unless I paid them. So sadly unprofessional with the worst communication I have ever experienced. If you want a nightmare experience go with this company!

"Our pricing and expectations are clear all around. We offered you: loading a u-haul, an exclusive move, or a piggybacked semi truck move (cheaper). The reason we are able to do a piggybacked move much cheaper is because we are not sending a crew of people round-trip to Florida. This was abundantly made clear, and you chose the cheapest option. Totally fair, but don't put it back on us that we are sending just a driver and truck -- that was totally agreed (and signed) for! We have a consistent list where every single day someone from our office reached out to you to let you know where the truck was, we sent a live GPS tacking link to your items/the driver and truck, and numerous phone calls and emails. We were very upfront that a semi truck and driver (competing with logbook hours and driver pay) is not free to remain idle. We are very reasonable here. But your wish of "can he just wait through the weekend" is out of touch. Thats not free for us, so how can we pretend it is? We were 100% up front about the move cost, scope, what we were doing and not doing, and we worked with you to the best of our ability coordinate this move for you. At the end of the day, it seems like you wanted to pay for one thing, but expected another, entirely. For anyone reading, we are clear and setting clear expectations on price and scope is of paramount importance to our internal values here at The Moving Experience. This person did not remember even signing an estimate, let alone what was included or not. The expectations changed as move-day approached... Best, TME Team"

The Moving Experience requires a deposit ($150) to reserve a date and prepayment in full for the "minimum" bid. Most reputable moving companies do not require payment in advance. In addition, we paid for 3 skilled movers and a truck. The lead mover was very skilled, however the other 2 were not, and the lead took time to do "on the job" training. They did a good job, though.
Response from The Moving Experience LLC
"Hi, Christine. Thank you for your review of The Moving Experience. We do realize that the word 'movers' at large covers a wide range of practices and services, and not all companies are alike in professionalism, practices, billing, etc. In fact, most reputable companies do charge some kind of deposit. If you can put yourself in the shoes of a company with 10 movers and 2 trucks dedicated to a job with a minimal or no deposit on hand, only to knock on the door to an empty house, the company is now not working that day and a few thousand dollars in payroll, depending on crew count/drive time to that location. For this reason, most movers, especially locally here, do charge a deposit, up to and including the minimum charge. So, we are not sure where you got that information, but we did want to offer some insight as to how and why we do that. We do pride ourselves on clarity and transparency throughout our process, and that being said, we do take feedback -- especially less than A+ feedback -- seriously. Further, training on the job is extremely common in this industry. If you do feel like you received less than A+ service and bang for the buck with us, please call in. We always want to leave you a raving fan versus another (mostly) satisfied customer. :) Hope your week is well and thank you once again for using us. Be well."

This company reached out to me when I thought they were too far away. They consistently offered great customer service. One thing that stood out to me during both the pack day and the arrival/unpack day was the supportive relationship shown by each team leader to those working with him.
Response from The Moving Experience LLC
"Thank you, Marcia! We can not thank you enough for the choice to use our company and the collaborative moving process that we were able to share with you. Please let us know how we can help you along your journey anytime in the future. Thanks! :)"
