Pristine has been cleaning my home for several months now; I found them through a referral from a friend who was happy with their services. I thought that the price of $28/hour was steep but worked out a schedule with the manager, Judy, of 2.5 hours per visit that would get my home clean and be affordable. I specified that I required a housecleaning each month the Wednesday before the second Saturday because we host a board meeting at our residence that evening. I have had two different housekeepers in 4 or 5 visits, never at the same time, never on the day specified and never for the same length of time...hence, the prices for cleaning have varied greatly. Because of this inconsistency, I got the assigned cleaning day mixed up and when the housekeeper showed up one morning, I wasn't prepared so together we picked another day and time and she was very nice about it and left. When she returned for her 2.5 hour visit the following week, she informed me that she had been told to charge me $28.00 for a missed appointment. Not only that, she worked and charged me for 3 hours instead of 2.5 so I ended up with a bill of $112 instead of $70! No one from the company ever called me back to tell me that there would be an additional charge when I rescheduled the visit, nor have I ever received anything in writing regarding their company policy. I am writing a letter to the company today and enclosing a check for $70--my customary fee, and cancelling their services.
