I have a contract with them. They don't charge me a service charge. Their pricing is very fair, it's good.

I called this vendor to unclog my kitchen drain. The plumber's name was Jose, and he told me that he needed to charge me at least $250 to remove the pipe to snake the kitchen sink. I had also mentioned that the shower in the back bedroom was leaking. He looked at it and told me that he would need to break into the wall; he also told me he would need to install a shut off valve on the house because using the one at the street was illegal. The cost would be $650. I called my roommate, and he told me to hold up on any repairs, unfortunately. I had already paid for snaking the drain. My roommate found a part and fixed the shower for a total of $15.00. Also, the snaking of my drain should have cost no more than $75. He spoke with the owner, and he told him that I should have some money refunded, but it never happened. If you live in SLO and need a plumber, do not use Power Plumbing--especially if you are a woman. They will overcharge you.

I’m not going to use them anymore.  One of their plumbers installed a toilet wrong and it leaked all over the place; now I have to have my floor replaced.  The first couple times I was satisfied but they sent out a different plumber each time.  I like to build a relationship with my service providers and that’s kind of hard when it’s a different person coming every time.  I had to explain specific things several times to different people.  Their responsiveness was quite excellent; they came out right away.

At 11:30am the day before we were to go out of town for Christmas, I noticed that our hot water heater was leaking. My son was able to turn off the gas to the unit, but the water valve was frozen open. I called Power Plumbing because I have used them before and was relieved when they said they could get someone out that day. At 4pm a two man team arrived, inspected the situation, suggested I also have a catch pan put in that drains into the garage (my water heater is in the laundry room), and gave me an estimate. I asked if there was an additional charge since they were here so late in the day and I was told that 'overtime' was not charged until after 7pm. One of them stayed and removed my old unit while the other went and picked up the new water heater. My water intake valve was changed out to a lever style so that it would not freeze up like the old one, new (up to code) gas lines were installed, the water heater was strapped to the wall per earthquake requirements, and the catch pan was put in. Juan also informed me that the gas lines to my furnace were no longer up to code and should be replaced, then gave me a $20 coupon toward that service. He also gave me a 10% discount for being a repeat customer (he tried to give it as a senior discount but I am not quite 55 yet, lol). They were finished around 7pm, cleaned up nicely, and we were able to travel for the holiday with peace of mind.

He came out on a Saturday afternoon and stayed for a couple hours. He was able to root it for us. It completely fixed the issue. The cost was reasonable, he was friendly, clean, and explained everything he was doing.
