Miguel's Tile

Miguel's crew includes two of his brothers, Antonio and Juan. They did an outstanding job removing and installing new tile to the master bathroom shower, removing a free standing wall for larger entrance to the shower and removing and replacing all flooring tile in all three bathrooms and laundry room in the house. They were always punctual in arriving early in the morning, working diligently and professionally and completed the job in the span of only two weeks. We are thrilled with the results and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering tilework in their home!

Exceptionally fantastic. Workers very friendly, courteous and always on time. They kept things tidy and did an excellent job. Word of mouth to encourage more jobs for this company. Work ethic is extremely high and was very much appreciated.

Miguel came out promptly and provided an estimate. Original request for estimate was for a shower stall only (remove old fiberglass insert and replace it with a tiled shower) but we decided to add the floors as it just made sense. I purchased the tile/grout from TileCo in Santa Maria so the estimate was labor only. The estimate was reasonable compared to the one other estimate I had received. Miguel knew that I also was in the process of replacing the rest of the flooring in the house and he was able to fit us in to his schedule promptly.

The demo was done by lunch time of day one. I was impressed. Miguel came out that evening to set the shower pan so it would be dry and ready for an early start the next day.

 Over the next few days, Juan (Tile Guy) arrived promptly at 7am (one day at 6.45am  as I leave for work at 7am)  to make sure he confirmed they way I wanted the tile placed, grout spacing and decorative accent) There was an issue with the plumbing as the tract home builders had placed some of the pipes on the outside of the studs. A quick fix was able to get us back on track without having to redo all the plumbing (brought the drywall out several inches to accommodate the pipes). Miguel also arranged for a Plumber to be available at every stage to place the drain, reinstall the fittings and install 2 new toilets. Robert (Plumber and Miguels Cousin) was wonderful and very reasonably priced considering he returned several times.

I had one quick change order (to take the shower tile to the ceiling instead of stopping at 72 inches). We were able to negotiate a fair price.

 I was consulted, informed and best of all guided through the entire process. I don't have a design bone in my body so I relied upon the expert (Juan) for helping me out with suggestions for things like grout spacing and accent height etc.

We are very pleased with the end result. Would highly recommend Miguel and his crew and will certainly use them for any future projects!

I had a question about one part of the job and Miguel was quick to send out the crew to take care of the situation.  Initially Miguel showed up and bid the job the day after my initial call - on the weekend, no less, they got the job done in record time without a hitch.  I am a detail person and a perfectionist and Miguel and his crew came through 100%.  After meeting them I gave them free run of the house and did not feel the need to be in attendance  -  I trust and recommend them completely.

The cost noted above was labor only as I chose the tile at Tile Co. in SLO. Miguel made a few visits to help me with planning as I kept adding more projects. He was professional while friendly and reassuring that all would go well. Since I had received two referrals from professionals, I didn't even get any other bids as I go for quality work and the price was reasonable.
Miguel gave ideas and recommendations while allowing me to make my own choices. I prefer simple tile work so the installation had to be spot-on with exact grout lines?and it was! The shower took some work to make it "square" so the glass doors would fit correctly. If it took a little longer to make it right, that's what they did! All of the family members who came to work in my home were equally professional (Miguel, Juan, Antonio, & Pancho - and Mael, who did the plumbing). They were respectful of my property and kept things picked up at the end of each day.
Thanks to Miguel, I learned of a grout that has recycled glass in it and is an elegant accent for the glass backsplash. He also educated me about options for trim and Juan helped select what was needed for the fireplace and backsplash. They're a great team and I would hire them again!!!

Recently I needed to get some tile redone in the bathroom with the tub.  I contacted Miguel?s Tile to get an estimate on the job.  He came out and gave me a written estimate on the cost and the time it would take to replace the tile.  Prior to starting work his staff did a great job of putting down paper and protecting the tub and other bathroom fixtures.  The tile was removed and they proceeded to prepare the walls for the tile install.  The tile was installed without any problems.  They made sure to include me on ever decision on installing the tile.  Daily they made sure to clean up and keep the place as clean as possible during construction.  We also replaced the plumbing fixtures and his suggestion for a plumber was excellent.  The job completed with no problems and no damage to any fixtures in the bathroom.  They did a great job on the install and the tile looks great.  I would not hesitate to use him on any future tile work or recommend him to anyone needing tile work.

Miguel did an excellent job remodeling our master bathroom.  Miguel showed up each day on time with his brothers to perform the work.  He completed the job on time and the bathroom looks beautiful.  I would not hesitate to use him again.

.Miguel and his family saved us from a backsplash installation disaster. We has another installer start installing our backsplash and when I got home that night, I could tell it was bad. The cutting of the stone was awful, the grout lines were uneven and overall just looked sloppy. The backsplash guy was supposed to come back on Saturday, July 5th to finish the installing. Instead of letting him continue, we ended up saying no thanks and promptly called Miguel that day. He said that he could have his guys out at our place on Monday morning.
By the time I got home Monday night, I could tell that their work was far superior to what we had previously had. It put my mind at ease. Since we were short on tile from our bad installation previously, the guys with Miguel's tile could only work with what we had. They had all the tile up by Tuesday evening, but we had to wait until our tile came in on Friday. Miguel's brother was back here bright and early on Saturday morning to finish the install and do the grouting.
I am so pleased with Miguel and his brothers promptness and their attention to detail. I will not hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future. Thank you Miguel for answering my phone calls, texts and emails so quickly and providing such great customer service.

Miguel showed up on time and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes.  Price was good and I talked to him about possibly doing some work in my kitchen and bathroom.  Miguel is very personable and easy to talk to.  I was very impressed with the whole service.

I went with them because of their reviews in Angie's List. He's very flexible, very knowledgeable, high level craft, great sense of humor, does exactly what he says he's going to do, and has great opinion and everything. He's great to work with and really good.

Miguel and his brothers are great to work with. They are pleasent, thoughtful and cleaned up every day.
We enjoyed very much having these young men around and missed them when they were finished with the job. They do beautful work. Miguel made sure the grout lines matched the existing  grout line in the kitchen so the flow into the dinning room is even and looks like the floors were put in  at the same time. Miguel and his brothers were very helpful and moved all the furniture and replaced it when the floor was ready. If we need any more tile work done we will call Miguel. Miguel and his crew did an amazing job. I was very impressed with their grout and tile work in both bathrooms, especially the custom shower in our master bathroom. It's apparent that Miguel and his crew care about their work.
On top of their high quality work, Miguel is an excellent communicator. He is very professional and straight forward in his estimates, and literally answers every single phone call throughout the project. It's a great feeling to know you can reach him when questions come up.
Even after the job was complete, Miguel was willing to come back and make a few final adjustments that we needed. We need a little more tile added, as well as repairing some tile that was damaged by other contractors, which Miguel covered for us.

We had him tile an entire master bath, 2 smaller bathrooms, a Fireplace surround and our kitchen backsplash.
He arrived on schedule to fit our timetable for our house renovation.

We had unusual kitchen tile and we worried a bit he would not match it well. It looks perfect?.!

I can not recommend Miguel highly enough. I first found him through Angie's list, and called him over to give me an estimate for my upstairs bathroom floor. He was so reasonable that he convinced me to do a whole bathroom remodel. While he was over, I also had him give me an estimate for my kitchen. At first I wanted just to replace the counter, but he reassured me the backsplash would make a huge difference. Wow was he right! I am **SOOOO* glad I listened to Miguel. My upstairs bath now has a travertine floor, side accent wall, and a brand new shower enclosure over the new tub. My kitchen is completely remodeled and looks great!!
    Before Miguel, I used to walk in my kitchen and wince. It was original 1978 gold tile and several pieces were cracked. Now, I have a beautiful earth tone ceramic tile with stone accent pieces I picked out myself! 
    A note on customer service: Miguel made me feel like a queen from start to finish. He even went with me to Home Depot the first night to pick out the tile! He was courteous, professional, and amiable. 
    Miguel employs his brothers as team members, and they are just as professional and nice as he is! Juan and Antonio were working on my house for about 3 weeks, and I was actually sad to see them go! They were super *clean* and laid out industrial paper to cover the floor everywhere they walked. I felt very comfortable and very safe with these guys around. They felt a lot like members of my family. =) They were left alone for long periods of time in my house with some valuable stuff and never touched any of it. Honesty score: 10/10!!!!
  Long and short, it went *AWESOME*. I will definitely be calling Miguel's Tile back as soon as I need them. =) Two thumbs way up!!!

One thing I found very good about Miguel was that he communicated in a timely manner and if there was a scheduling issue, he called well in advance to discuss it. I was in no hurry, so I gave him latitude to set a priority for other clients if he needed. He was always very courteous and professional. As someone who owns and operates five companies, I appreciate someone like Miguel who is just as dedicated to high standards on a personal and performance level.
Do yourself a favor and call him.

Very nice young man, Christian (that's a bonus with us), nice family, knows how to eat (inside joke - my wife kept he and his crew well fed).  We got a couple of bids, and although his was higher, he was firm that it should be done right the first time (we were just looking for a 5 year job until we do a major remodel) and he was SOOOOOO right. He recommended we tile to the ceiling (right again), and had great ideas about how to make slight, but very wise, improvements to our already nice tile design.  He showed up at noon as I was finishing the demolition, suggested we replace the bathroom window since we were down to the studs already, so we started on that while waiting for his cousin to arrive (we realized after the demolition that the new shower valve wouldn't work with the existing plumbing, so he called his cousin the plumber to come and bail me out).  Whew!  Consider that this is the middle of the day on a Saturday, his cousin drives 50 miles each way, works for two hours, and charges me almost nothing.  How cool is that!!!  So we get the window in and Miguel's crew starts to work.  They do it the old-fashioned way, installing greenboard and then floating (mudding) the entire shower enclosure.  He works until 10 that night, then comes back Sunday morning to tile.  Worked until 1 in the morning to finish and grout.  Came out beautiful...  Came back a few weeks later and installed a vanity and tiled the backsplash - again great ideas on how to put really nice touches on our original design....  Lovely work.  Very pleased...

Our master bathroom shower was a disaster. The floor of the shower was cracked and it was obvious that the contractor who built this home was into quantity instead of quality. The house came with this huge bathtub that we never used. Initially when we purchased the home it was great to look at but in the end it was a waste of space. Our additional bathroom had a shower/bathtub combo that was small and it did not provide much wiggle room. I called Miguel on a Saturday afternoon and he was here Sunday morning to provide an estimate of the work we needed done. We provided Miguel our vision for both bathrooms and he came up with a more than fair estimate on labor cost. On the master bathroom he gutted out the shower and bathtub. We wanted the shower to be five feet wide and the ceiling, floor and walls tiled with the choice of tile that we selected. We also wanted the vanity and the bathroom floor tiled as well. Miguel advised us that the texture guy and the plumber was an additional cost but we budgeted for that. The bathroom came out fantastic, beautiful, gorgeous and some. We were more than happy when the work was completed. The other bathroom had the tub removed and converted to a walk-in shower as beautiful as the master. Both my wife and I agreed that we chose the right man to remodel our bathrooms. I will provide pictures of the results soon. I highly recommend Miguel's Tile for all your needs. He also had ideas for our kitchen but that will come soon. Please keep in mind that the approximate price of work and material was mostly based on our choice of higher end tile and bathroom fixtures.

I read the reviews for Miguel's Tile and contacted him because of the method he uses for tile installation - floating walls.  He came to my house within 1 day of my call and gave me an estimate for the work needed.  There were numerous changes and delays in this bath remodel, none of them were because of Miguel.  He has the patience of a Saint! 
He arrived everyday ontime, with 2 assistants.  When I saw them lay down a walkway area to protect my Entry floor, I knew I had called the right man to do the job. Their work area was cleaned daily and every effort was made to be as non-disruptive a possible.
Miguel is creative, professional and loves his work!  He and his assistants take great pride in what they do, It was a pleasure to do business with him and I hope to have more projects for him in the future.
