About us
As owner of Balderston Painting, I, John, have been a California state licensed contractor working in San Luis Obispo county since 1976 (#362414). I am a proud Cal Poly alumni, and have raised my 2 boys on the central coast. I run a small shop, myself and 1 or 2 other journeyman painters who have been with me for 15+ years. I am on every job and do most of the work myself. I am EPA Lead certified and am a subject matter expert for the California State Contractors Licensing Board in Sacramento. Project estimates are free and your projects costs are given to you at the time we meet.

I offer mostly residential painting, and color consultation. I've seen it all and probably done it all. Payment for your job is not due until the job is finished., color matching, custom faux and wall glazes, elastomeric coating application, interior and exterior wall and trim painting, painting existing stained cabinets, pressure washing, though I do a few commercial jobs each year. New and residential re-paints are the bulk of my work. These include cabinet stain and finishing
