We were very lucky to have Steve Hopkins as our buyer's agent when we moved to SLO county.  I understand his services are in high demand, but for some reason, he agreed to represent us.  He gently but firmly guided us through the purchasing process and had no problem telling us the good and bad points of each house compared to our needs.  We relocated from the Bay Area and it was difficult to find time to travel here and view houses, but we trusted him to represent our interests and he exceeded our expectations in every way.  He made sure the entire process was as smooth as possible and helped us find local providers for various services.  He even waited at our house for four hours the day before we moved in to meet the internet service installer--not that he has four hours to spare, but that is just how Steve is:  generous, personable and kind, but also very professional.  We love our house and plan on living here forever, but if we ever have any real estate needs in the future, Steve is our agent for sure!  We highly recommend his services to anyone buying or selling property in SLO county.
