Went in to the shop 30 minutes before closing on a Monday, needing floral arrangements delivered before noon Weds. A variety of live plants (some in bloom), arrangements and unarranged flowers were on display. We looked at books of arrangements and Sherri was most helpful. Advised me what to look for in each picture, e.g. the shape of the spray (I thought they were all the same until she pointed out the differences). From the few basic pictures, we talked about customizations types of flowers, which flowers came in what colors, which flowers would most likely be open/blooming at the right time (i.e. some are shipped "closed", and we didn't have extra days for them to open). She gave a range of prices for each basic shape & size, guidelines about what would drive the cost to the upper or lower end and the average price as actually purchased. We asked her what kind of lead time she'd need, and she said "first thing tomorrow morning to ensure she'd have the right flowers available". We thanked her, and left to check out some other places. The other places were not nearly as informative and/or their displays did not inspire confidence. So the next morning I called back to advise that we like a spray and a vase arrangement, nice ones, but not conspicuously ostentatious. Asked her to make sure certain colors & types of flowers were on hand, left some wiggle room on the exact details and told her I'd meet with her at 3pm. At that time, I asked her to do 2 vases instead of 1. We chose the size of the vases based on other arrangements on display in the shop. Appreciate that she didn't try to get us to supersize or buy the most expensive. As she was writing up the order, she took the initiative to ask whether we needed boutonni res for the pallbearers, and threw those in at no charge. Everything was delivered on time and looked great.
