Star Motors

A small shop, but very committed to high level of service. I especially liked being sent photos of the problem water pump so that I could actually see what the problem was. The car was promised at 4:30, which was changed to 5:00 after I had already left home to pick the car up; it wasn't actually ready until 5:30, which accounts for my lowering my punctuality score. Not a big deal for this trip, but it might have been if I'd had another appointment or commitment.

Star Motors are very prompt, very cordial, and after every service they call to follow up. I called them, they said to come in, in 45 minutes they were done, and they wash your car afterwards. They were $350 cheaper than the dealer. They tell you how much it's going to cost and stick to it. They even offered to stay open on a Friday night for me to pick up my car. I'm very impressed with Star Motors and have been going to them for over 2 years. They are really good and repair all kinds of cars. I'm going to take my Toyota there.

I received a call from Chris that my truck was due for a tune-up and also that I needed front brakes and probably would need to replace the front rotors. I was quoted $300 for the tune-up and $600 for the front brakes with rotors. Having worked for Dodge in the service department in the past, I knew that he was charging way more than the dealership. A tune-up at the dealer was $195 and the front brakes with new rotors, using all factory parts was $500. After I told them no and to just finish up on the oil change I went to get my truck. I paid my bill and left, but when I got to work I realized that they charged me for a basic oil change without using synthetic oil as I requested. I called and asked if they used synthetic oil or did they forget and use standard oil. She called me back and said the tech had used synthetic oil but the advisor changed the repair order to standard oil. She then told me that I would have to pay more for the difference! I have five other vehicle's that I was intending to take to them because of their location. Needless to say, I will never return and will tell all of my friends and family to never take their cars there.

Update:
They called me and told me that they decided not to charge me the difference on my oil change. I also was told by the dealership that my truck didn't need brakes.

I spent a lot of money, about $2500. The tires were about a thousand of that. BMW's are not cheap when you have to fix them up. I have just moved out here about fifteen months ago and I have been using Star Motors since then. I was recommended to them by my next door neighbor. When I went to them, they repaired something which I don't remember what it was at that time. Within a week after the repairs something happened with the car and I was about a hundred miles away from here. I lost the steering and couldn't be driven. I called Star Motors because they just done this work on the car. They told me not to worry about it, and they asked me to leave the keys there and they will pick it up. They towed the car at their expense which was a hundred miles away. They then did the repairs and fixed it again. They paid for my rental car. They sort of got me on that. There was no arguing and they automatically said they will take care of it. They got me there just because of their service. I trust them. They are fair and trustworthy. If they don't think that I need to spend money on something, they tell me that I don't need to spend it. They are honest, fair and they do outstanding work. My car runs great. I would absolutely use them in the future again. These cars are expensive; so the price will be a bit high. They are the stand up kind of people.
